アカンの罪
7 しかし、イスラエル人の中に罪が潜んでいました。主にささげるもの以外は滅ぼし尽くせというヨシュアの命令が、実は守られていなかったのです。ユダ族のカルミの子で、祖父はザブディ、曾祖父がゼラフであるアカンが、戦利品の一部をふところに入れていました。そのために、主の激しい怒りがイスラエルの民に下ったのです。
2 エリコ陥落後すぐに、ヨシュアはまた、ベテル東方の町アイに数人の偵察者を送り込みました。 3 彼らは戻って報告しました。「小さな町ですから、二、三千人もいれば十分です。すぐに占領できるでしょう。全員で攻めるまでもありません。」
4 そこで、およそ三千の兵がアイに送り込まれました。ところが、彼らはさんざんに痛めつけられたのです。 5 戦闘中に三十六人ほどが殺されたうえ、大ぜいの兵士がアイの住民に石切り場まで追われ、次々に倒れました。イスラエル軍は、この敗北ですっかりおびえてしまいました。 6 ヨシュアと長老たちは心を痛め、衣服を裂き、頭にちりをかぶって、夕方まで主の箱の前にひれ伏しました。
7 ヨシュアは主に向かって叫びました。「ああ主よ。エモリ人の手によって私たちを滅ぼすおつもりなら、どうして私たちにヨルダン川を渡らせたのですか。どうして、すでに得ていたもので満足させてくださらなかったのですか。こんなことになるくらいなら、ヨルダン川の東側にとどまっていればよかったのです。 8 ああ主よ。敵に背を見せてしまった今となっては、どうすることもできません。 9 カナン人や近隣の民族がこれを聞けば、攻めて来るに決まっています。もはや全滅です。そうなれば、あなたの大いなる御名はどうなるのでしょう。」
10-11 それに対して、主は答えました。「顔を上げて立ちなさい。イスラエルは罪を犯したのだ。わたしの命令に背いて、取ってはならないと命じた戦利品を盗んだ。盗んだだけではない。偽って、自分の持ち物の中に隠している。 12 だからあなたがたは敗れた。これで敗北の原因がわかっただろう。今ではイスラエルのほうが滅ぼされる運命にある。その罪が完全に取り除かれなければ、もう、わたしはあなたがたとは共に歩まない。
13 立て。みなにこう告げよ。『各自、明日に備えて、自分を聖別しなさい。イスラエルの神である主がこう言われるからだ。だれかが主のものを盗んだ。この罪を取り除くまで、敵を破ることはできない。 14 明朝、あなたがたは部族ごとに進み出なさい。主が犯人のいる部族を示されるだろう。その部族は氏族ごとに分かれて進み出なさい。主が犯人のいる氏族を示してくださるだろう。次に、その氏族は家族ごとに進み出なさい。そして、犯人のいる家族は、一人ずつ前へ出るのだ。 15 主のものを盗んだ者は、全財産もろとも、火で焼かれる。主の契約を破って、全イスラエルに災難をもたらしたからだ。』」
16 翌朝早く、ヨシュアは主の前にイスラエルの各部族を進み出させました。すると、ユダ族に犯人がいることがわかりました。 17 ついでユダの各氏族を進み出させると、ゼラフの氏族だとわかりました。今度は、家族に分かれて主の前に進み出させたところ、ザブディの家族ということになりました。 18 ザブディ家の男子が一人ずつ連れ出されると、ついに、犯人はザブディの孫アカンであると判明したのです。
19 ヨシュアはアカンにただしました。「わが子よ。イスラエルの神に栄光を帰し、ほんとうのことを白状しなさい。さあ、何をしたか、包み隠さず話しなさい。」
20 「私はイスラエルの神に対して、取り返しのつかない罪を犯しました。 21 ふと見ると、バビロン産の美しい外套と、金の延べ棒と、銀とがあったのです。銀は二百シェケル、金は五十シェケルの値打ちがあると思いました。すると、どうしようもなく欲しくなり、それらを自分の天幕（テント）の下に埋めたのです。銀はいちばん深い所に隠しました。」
22 さっそく人をやって戦利品を捜させたところ、アカンの供述どおり、天幕の下に隠してあった盗品が掘り出され、さらに深い所からは銀が見つかりました。 23 それらはすべてヨシュアのもとへ運ばれ、主の前に並べられました。 24 ヨシュアは全イスラエル人とともに、アカンをアコルの谷に連れて行きました。盗んだ銀、外套、金の延べ棒、それに息子、娘、牛、ろば、羊、天幕など、全財産もいっしょでした。
25 ヨシュアはアカンに言い渡しました。「どうして、われわれにこんな災難を招くようなことをしでかしたのだ。今度は、主があなたに災難を下される。」人々は彼とその家族を石で打ち殺し、死体を焼き、 26 その上に石を高く積み上げました。その石塚は現在も残っており、谷は、今もなおアコル〔災い〕の谷と呼ばれています。こうして、ようやく主の激しい怒りは収まりました。

Achan’s Sin
7 But the Israelites were unfaithful in regard to the devoted things[a];(A) Achan(B) son of Karmi, the son of Zimri,[b] the son of Zerah,(C) of the tribe of Judah,(D) took some of them. So the Lord’s anger burned(E) against Israel.(F)
2 Now Joshua sent men from Jericho to Ai,(G) which is near Beth Aven(H) to the east of Bethel,(I) and told them, “Go up and spy out(J) the region.” So the men went up and spied out Ai.
3 When they returned to Joshua, they said, “Not all the army will have to go up against Ai. Send two or three thousand men to take it and do not weary the whole army, for only a few people live there.” 4 So about three thousand went up; but they were routed by the men of Ai,(K) 5 who killed about thirty-six(L) of them. They chased the Israelites from the city gate as far as the stone quarries and struck them down on the slopes. At this the hearts of the people melted in fear(M) and became like water.
6 Then Joshua tore his clothes(N) and fell facedown(O) to the ground before the ark of the Lord, remaining there till evening.(P) The elders of Israel(Q) did the same, and sprinkled dust(R) on their heads. 7 And Joshua said, “Alas, Sovereign Lord, why(S) did you ever bring this people across the Jordan to deliver us into the hands of the Amorites to destroy us?(T) If only we had been content to stay on the other side of the Jordan! 8 Pardon your servant, Lord. What can I say, now that Israel has been routed by its enemies? 9 The Canaanites and the other people of the country will hear about this and they will surround us and wipe out our name from the earth.(U) What then will you do for your own great name?(V)”
10 The Lord said to Joshua, “Stand up! What are you doing down on your face? 11 Israel has sinned;(W) they have violated my covenant,(X) which I commanded them to keep. They have taken some of the devoted things; they have stolen, they have lied,(Y) they have put them with their own possessions.(Z) 12 That is why the Israelites cannot stand against their enemies;(AA) they turn their backs(AB) and run(AC) because they have been made liable to destruction.(AD) I will not be with you anymore(AE) unless you destroy whatever among you is devoted to destruction.
13 “Go, consecrate the people. Tell them, ‘Consecrate yourselves(AF) in preparation for tomorrow; for this is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: There are devoted things among you, Israel. You cannot stand against your enemies until you remove them.
14 “‘In the morning, present(AG) yourselves tribe by tribe. The tribe the Lord chooses(AH) shall come forward clan by clan; the clan the Lord chooses shall come forward family by family; and the family the Lord chooses shall come forward man by man. 15 Whoever is caught with the devoted things(AI) shall be destroyed by fire,(AJ) along with all that belongs to him.(AK) He has violated the covenant(AL) of the Lord and has done an outrageous thing in Israel!’”(AM)
16 Early the next morning Joshua had Israel come forward by tribes, and Judah was chosen. 17 The clans of Judah came forward, and the Zerahites were chosen.(AN) He had the clan of the Zerahites come forward by families, and Zimri was chosen. 18 Joshua had his family come forward man by man, and Achan son of Karmi, the son of Zimri, the son of Zerah, of the tribe of Judah,(AO) was chosen.(AP)
19 Then Joshua said to Achan, “My son, give glory(AQ) to the Lord, the God of Israel, and honor him. Tell(AR) me what you have done; do not hide it from me.”
20 Achan replied, “It is true! I have sinned against the Lord, the God of Israel. This is what I have done: 21 When I saw in the plunder(AS) a beautiful robe from Babylonia,[c] two hundred shekels[d] of silver and a bar of gold weighing fifty shekels,[e] I coveted(AT) them and took them. They are hidden in the ground inside my tent, with the silver underneath.”
22 So Joshua sent messengers, and they ran to the tent, and there it was, hidden in his tent, with the silver underneath. 23 They took the things from the tent, brought them to Joshua and all the Israelites and spread them out before the Lord.
24 Then Joshua, together with all Israel, took Achan son of Zerah, the silver, the robe, the gold bar, his sons(AU) and daughters, his cattle, donkeys and sheep, his tent and all that he had, to the Valley of Achor.(AV) 25 Joshua said, “Why have you brought this trouble(AW) on us? The Lord will bring trouble on you today.”
Then all Israel stoned him,(AX) and after they had stoned the rest, they burned them.(AY) 26 Over Achan they heaped(AZ) up a large pile of rocks, which remains to this day.(BA) Then the Lord turned from his fierce anger.(BB) Therefore that place has been called the Valley of Achor[f](BC) ever since.

アイ攻略
8 それから、主はヨシュアに命じて言いました。「恐れてはいけない。勇気を出しなさい。全軍を率いて、アイを攻撃せよ。勝利は目の前にある。わたしは、アイの王と全住民をあなたの手に渡す。 2 エリコとその王にしたとおり、アイとその王にもせよ。ただし、今回は奪い取ったものや家畜を自分たちの戦利品としてもよい。町の後方には伏兵を置きなさい。」
3-4 本隊がアイに向かう前に、ヨシュアは三万の精兵をひそかに派遣し、いつでも行動を起こせるよう、アイの後方のそれほど遠くない場所に、伏兵として忍ばせました。 5 ヨシュアは伏兵たちにこう説明しました。「さて作戦だが、まず本隊が攻撃をしかける。アイの軍は前回同様に町から出て来て戦うだろう。そこで、本隊は逃げる。 6 彼らはそれを追いかけて来る。つまり、町は空っぽになるというわけだ。彼らは、『イスラエル軍がまた逃げて行くぞ。この前のとおりではないか』と言うに違いない。 7 そこに、隠れていたあなたたちが飛び出し、町に攻め入るのだ。主は町を私たちの手に渡してくださる。 8 そこに入ったら、町に火をかけるのだ。」
9 こうして三万の精兵は夜中に本隊を離れ、アイの西端とベテルとの中間の地点に隠れました。一方、ヨシュアの率いる本隊は、エリコの宿営にとどまって夜を過ごしました。
10 翌朝早く、ヨシュアは兵を起こして長老たちを伴ってアイを目指し、 11-13 アイの北にある谷を前にして陣を敷きました。その夜、ヨシュアはさらに五千の兵を選んで、町の西方に隠れている別動隊に合流させ、自分はその谷で夜を過ごしました。
14 アイの王は、イスラエル軍が谷を渡って来るのを見ると、朝早く、アラバの平原で迎え撃とうと町を出ました。もちろん、町の後方に伏兵がいるとは夢にも思いませんでした。 15 ヨシュアの率いるイスラエル軍は、さんざん痛めつけられたように見せかけ、いっせいに荒野へ退却しました。 16 すると、アイの町中の兵士が追撃しようと、おびき出されたのです。案の定、町は無防備になりました。 17 アイからもベテルからも、兵士は一人もいなくなり、町の城門は開け放たれたままでした。
18 その時、主はヨシュアに命じました。「手にしている投げ槍を、アイの方に差し伸べよ。わたしがアイをあなたの手に渡すからだ。」言われたとおりにすると、 19 その合図を待っていた伏兵がいっせいに飛び出して町の中になだれ込み、火を放ちました。 20-21 アイの兵士たちが振り返ると、町から上る煙が空いっぱいに立ち込めているではありませんか。彼らは逃げ場を失いました。ヨシュアとその全軍は、煙を見て、伏兵が町に侵入したことを知りました。それで、追いかけて来た者たちに向き直り、反撃に出ました。 22 町に侵入したイスラエル軍も出て来て、背後から敵に襲いかかりました。このようにしてアイは罠にはまり、全滅したのです。生き残ったり逃れたりした者は一人もいませんでした。 23 しかし、アイの王だけは捕虜とされ、ヨシュアのもとに連れて来られました。
24 イスラエル軍はアイの全軍を一人残らず倒すと、町へ取って返し、残っていた人々を次々に打ちました。 25 こうして、アイの全住民一万二千人が、その日のうちに死に絶えたのです。 26 ヨシュアは、最後の一人にとどめが刺されるまで、投げ槍をアイの方に差し伸べたままでいました。 27 ただし、家畜と分捕り物はそのまま残しておきました。それはイスラエル軍のものでした。あらかじめ主がヨシュアに、そうしてよいと告げていたのです。 28 焼き払われたアイは荒れ果てた丘となり、現在に至っています。 29 ヨシュアは、アイの王を夕方まで木にかけてさらし、日が沈むと死体を降ろして町の門の入口に投げ捨てました。その上に積み上げた石の山は、今も見ることができます。
エバル山での律法の朗読
30 ついでヨシュアは、モーセが命じたとおり、イスラエルの神である主のためにエバル山に祭壇を築きました。 31 律法の書に、「わたしのために、のみを当てたことのない石で祭壇を築け」と言われているとおりに。祭壇が完成すると、祭司たちはその上に、焼き尽くすいけにえと和解のいけにえをささげました。 32 またヨシュアは、人々が見守る中で、祭壇の石に十戒を刻みつけました。

Ai Destroyed
8 Then the Lord said to Joshua, “Do not be afraid;(A) do not be discouraged.(B) Take the whole army(C) with you, and go up and attack Ai.(D) For I have delivered(E) into your hands the king of Ai, his people, his city and his land. 2 You shall do to Ai and its king as you did to Jericho and its king, except that you may carry off their plunder(F) and livestock for yourselves.(G) Set an ambush(H) behind the city.”
3 So Joshua and the whole army moved out to attack Ai. He chose thirty thousand of his best fighting men and sent them out at night 4 with these orders: “Listen carefully. You are to set an ambush behind the city. Don’t go very far from it. All of you be on the alert. 5 I and all those with me will advance on the city, and when the men come out against us, as they did before, we will flee from them. 6 They will pursue us until we have lured them away from the city, for they will say, ‘They are running away from us as they did before.’ So when we flee from them, 7 you are to rise up from ambush and take the city. The Lord your God will give it into your hand.(I) 8 When you have taken the city, set it on fire.(J) Do what the Lord has commanded.(K) See to it; you have my orders.”
9 Then Joshua sent them off, and they went to the place of ambush(L) and lay in wait between Bethel and Ai, to the west of Ai—but Joshua spent that night with the people.
10 Early the next morning(M) Joshua mustered his army, and he and the leaders of Israel(N) marched before them to Ai. 11 The entire force that was with him marched up and approached the city and arrived in front of it. They set up camp north of Ai, with the valley between them and the city. 12 Joshua had taken about five thousand men and set them in ambush between Bethel and Ai, to the west of the city. 13 So the soldiers took up their positions—with the main camp to the north of the city and the ambush to the west of it. That night Joshua went into the valley.
14 When the king of Ai saw this, he and all the men of the city hurried out early in the morning to meet Israel in battle at a certain place overlooking the Arabah.(O) But he did not know(P) that an ambush had been set against him behind the city. 15 Joshua and all Israel let themselves be driven back(Q) before them, and they fled toward the wilderness.(R) 16 All the men of Ai were called to pursue them, and they pursued Joshua and were lured away(S) from the city. 17 Not a man remained in Ai or Bethel who did not go after Israel. They left the city open and went in pursuit of Israel.
18 Then the Lord said to Joshua, “Hold out toward Ai the javelin(T) that is in your hand,(U) for into your hand I will deliver the city.” So Joshua held out toward the city the javelin that was in his hand.(V) 19 As soon as he did this, the men in the ambush rose quickly(W) from their position and rushed forward. They entered the city and captured it and quickly set it on fire.(X)
20 The men of Ai looked back and saw the smoke of the city rising up into the sky,(Y) but they had no chance to escape in any direction; the Israelites who had been fleeing toward the wilderness had turned back against their pursuers. 21 For when Joshua and all Israel saw that the ambush had taken the city and that smoke was going up from it, they turned around(Z) and attacked the men of Ai. 22 Those in the ambush also came out of the city against them, so that they were caught in the middle, with Israelites on both sides. Israel cut them down, leaving them neither survivors nor fugitives.(AA) 23 But they took the king of Ai alive(AB) and brought him to Joshua.
24 When Israel had finished killing all the men of Ai in the fields and in the wilderness where they had chased them, and when every one of them had been put to the sword, all the Israelites returned to Ai and killed those who were in it. 25 Twelve thousand men and women fell that day—all the people of Ai.(AC) 26 For Joshua did not draw back the hand that held out his javelin(AD) until he had destroyed[a](AE) all who lived in Ai.(AF) 27 But Israel did carry off for themselves the livestock and plunder of this city, as the Lord had instructed Joshua.(AG)
28 So Joshua burned(AH) Ai[b](AI) and made it a permanent heap of ruins,(AJ) a desolate place to this day.(AK) 29 He impaled the body of the king of Ai on a pole and left it there until evening. At sunset,(AL) Joshua ordered them to take the body from the pole and throw it down at the entrance of the city gate. And they raised a large pile of rocks(AM) over it, which remains to this day.
The Covenant Renewed at Mount Ebal
30 Then Joshua built on Mount Ebal(AN) an altar(AO) to the Lord, the God of Israel, 31 as Moses the servant of the Lord had commanded the Israelites. He built it according to what is written in the Book of the Law of Moses—an altar of uncut stones, on which no iron tool(AP) had been used. On it they offered to the Lord burnt offerings and sacrificed fellowship offerings.(AQ) 32 There, in the presence of the Israelites, Joshua wrote on stones a copy of the law of Moses.(AR) 33 All the Israelites, with their elders, officials and judges, were standing on both sides of the ark of the covenant of the Lord, facing the Levitical(AS) priests who carried it. Both the foreigners living among them and the native-born(AT) were there. Half of the people stood in front of Mount Gerizim and half of them in front of Mount Ebal,(AU) as Moses the servant of the Lord had formerly commanded when he gave instructions to bless the people of Israel.
34 Afterward, Joshua read all the words of the law—the blessings and the curses—just as it is written in the Book of the Law.(AV) 35 There was not a word of all that Moses had commanded that Joshua did not read to the whole assembly of Israel, including the women and children, and the foreigners who lived among them.(AW)

3 泣き疲れて、のどは渇き、声はかれ果てました。
神の助けを待ちわびて、
目も赤くなりはれ上がりました。
4 理由なく私を憎む者があとを絶ちません。
何も悪いことをしていない私を
殺そうと謀る者たちはみな、有力者ばかりです。
私は身に覚えがないのに、
彼らは報復しようといきり立っています。
5 ああ神よ。
あなたは、私の愚かさをよくご存じです。
私の罪も一つ残らず覚えておられます。
6 ああ主よ。この私の存在が、
あなたを信頼しようとする人々にとって、
つまずきとなりませんように。
混乱を引き起こす原因となりませんように。
7 私はあなたのためにのろわれ、
辱められているからです。
8 血を分けた実の兄弟でさえ、
赤の他人のようにしかふるまってくれません。

神が切りつけた者の傷を見てあざけったからです。
27 彼らの罪は高く積もっています。
どうか、見のがさないでください。

正しい人と同じように生きる権利を、
はく奪してください。
29 しかし、ああ神よ。この私は、
貧困と苦痛から救い上げてくださいますように。
30 そうすれば、感謝を込めて
あなたをほめたたえることができます。

1 Save me, O God,
for the waters(A) have come up to my neck.(B)
2 I sink in the miry depths,(C)
where there is no foothold.
I have come into the deep waters;
the floods engulf me.
3 I am worn out calling for help;(D)
my throat is parched.
My eyes fail,(E)
looking for my God.
4 Those who hate me(F) without reason(G)
outnumber the hairs of my head;
many are my enemies without cause,(H)

I am forced to restore
what I did not steal.
6 Lord, the Lord Almighty,
may those who hope in you
not be disgraced because of me;
God of Israel,
may those who seek you
not be put to shame because of me.
7 For I endure scorn(L) for your sake,(M)
and shame covers my face.(N)
8 I am a foreigner to my own family,
a stranger to my own mother’s children;(O)
9 for zeal for your house consumes me,(P)
and the insults of those who insult you fall on me.(Q)
10 When I weep and fast,(R)
I must endure scorn;
11 when I put on sackcloth,(S)
people make sport of me.
12 Those who sit at the gate(T) mock me,
and I am the song of the drunkards.(U)
13 But I pray to you, Lord,
in the time of your favor;(V)
in your great love,(W) O God,
answer me with your sure salvation.
14 Rescue me from the mire,
do not let me sink;
deliver me from those who hate me,

or the depths swallow me up(Z)

22 May the table set before them become a snare;
may it become retribution and[b] a trap.(AL)
23 May their eyes be darkened so they cannot see,
and their backs be bent forever.(AM)
24 Pour out your wrath(AN) on them;
let your fierce anger overtake them.
25 May their place be deserted;(AO)
let there be no one to dwell in their tents.(AP)
26 For they persecute those you wound
and talk about the pain of those you hurt.(AQ)
27 Charge them with crime upon crime;(AR)
do not let them share in your salvation.(AS)
28 May they be blotted out of the book of life(AT)
and not be listed with the righteous.(AU)
29 But as for me, afflicted and in pain—
may your salvation, God, protect me.(AV)
30 I will praise God’s name in song(AW)
and glorify him(AX) with thanksgiving.
31 This will please the Lord more than an ox,

32 The poor will see and be glad(AZ)—

5 あなたがたの間に起こった不品行について、みながうわさをしています。それは、異教徒でもしないほどの不品行で、父の妻（おそらく継母のこと）と関係を持っている人が、教会にいるそうではありませんか。 2 それでもなお、自分たちは信仰深いとしらを切るつもりですか。どうしてそのことで嘆き悲しみ、恥じないのですか。なぜその人を教会から除名しないのですか。
3-4 私はそこにはいっしょにいませんが、私もこの問題をよく考えてみました。そして、実際その場に居合わせたように、主イエス・キリストの御名によって、すでに対策を決めました。さっそく教会で集会を開きなさい。――その時、主イエスの力があなたがたと共にあり、私も霊において出席します。―― 5 そして、その人を罰するために、教会から追放してサタンの手に引き渡しなさい。そうするのは、主イエス・キリストが帰って来られる時に、その人のたましいが救われるようにと願うからです。

9 私は以前、あなたがたに手紙で、不品行な者たちと交際しないように書き送りました。 10 しかしそれは、信者でない人で性的な罪を犯している者、強欲な者、どろぼう、偶像を拝む者とは口もきくな、という意味ではありません。そのような人たちから離れていようとすれば、この世から出て行かなければならないからです。 11 私がほんとうに意図したところは、自分はクリスチャンだと公言している者で、しかも性的な罪にふける者、貪欲な者、人をだます者、偶像を拝む者、酒に酔う者、人をそしる者とはつき合うな、ということです。そのような者とは、いっしょに食事をすることもいけません。
教会の問題は教会で
12-13 教会外の人たちをさばくことは、私たちの務めではありません。神おひとりのなさることです。しかし、教会員でありながら、このような罪を犯す者がいたら、教会として処置をとることは当然です。その悪い人を教会から除かなければなりません。

Dealing With a Case of Incest
5 It is actually reported that there is sexual immorality among you, and of a kind that even pagans do not tolerate: A man is sleeping with his father’s wife.(A) 2 And you are proud! Shouldn’t you rather have gone into mourning(B) and have put out of your fellowship(C) the man who has been doing this? 3 For my part, even though I am not physically present, I am with you in spirit.(D) As one who is present with you in this way, I have already passed judgment in the name of our Lord Jesus(E) on the one who has been doing this. 4 So when you are assembled and I am with you in spirit, and the power of our Lord Jesus is present, 5 hand this man over(F) to Satan(G) for the destruction of the flesh,[a][b] so that his spirit may be saved on the day of the Lord.(H)
6 Your boasting is not good.(I) Don’t you know that a little yeast(J) leavens the whole batch of dough?(K) 7 Get rid of the old yeast, so that you may be a new unleavened batch—as you really are. For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed.(L) 8 Therefore let us keep the Festival, not with the old bread leavened with malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread(M) of sincerity and truth.
9 I wrote to you in my letter not to associate(N) with sexually immoral people— 10 not at all meaning the people of this world(O) who are immoral, or the greedy and swindlers, or idolaters. In that case you would have to leave this world. 11 But now I am writing to you that you must not associate with anyone who claims to be a brother or sister[c](P) but is sexually immoral or greedy, an idolater(Q) or slanderer, a drunkard or swindler. Do not even eat with such people.(R)
12 What business is it of mine to judge those outside(S) the church? Are you not to judge those inside?(T) 13 God will judge those outside. “Expel the wicked person from among you.”[d](U)
