3 He said to me, Mortal, I am sending you to the people of Israel, to a nation[a] of rebels who have rebelled against me; they and their ancestors have transgressed against me to this very day. 4 The descendants are impudent and stubborn. I am sending you to them, and you shall say to them, “Thus says the Lord God.” 5 Whether they hear or refuse to hear (for they are a rebellious house), they shall know that there has been a prophet among them. 6 And you, O mortal, do not be afraid of them, and do not be afraid of their words, though briers and thorns surround you and you live among scorpions; do not be afraid of their words, and do not be dismayed at their looks, for they are a rebellious house. 7 You shall speak my words to them, whether they hear or refuse to hear; for they are a rebellious house.
8 But you, mortal, hear what I say to you; do not be rebellious like that rebellious house; open your mouth and eat what I give you. 9 I looked, and a hand was stretched out to me, and a written scroll was in it. 10 He spread it before me; it had writing on the front and on the back, and written on it were words of lamentation and mourning and woe.
3 He said to me, O mortal, eat what is offered to you; eat this scroll, and go, speak to the house of Israel. 2 So I opened my mouth, and he gave me the scroll to eat. 3 He said to me, Mortal, eat this scroll that I give you and fill your stomach with it. Then I ate it; and in my mouth it was as sweet as honey.

3 Akkor az, aki megszólított, azt mondta: „Ember fia, elküldelek téged Izráel fiaihoz, a lázadó és engedetlen néphez, akik fellázadtak ellenem. Mind az ősök, mind pedig leszármazottjaik folyton vétkeztek ellenem mind a mai napig. 4 Ez a mostani nemzedék pedig makacs és keményfejű. Hozzájuk küldelek, hogy mondd nekik: »Ezt mondja Uram, az Örökkévaló…«. 5 Ők pedig, akár hallgatnak rád, és elfogadják az üzenetet, akár nem fogadják el, és nem hagyják abba gonoszságaikat — hiszen ellenem lázadó nép ez —, mindenképpen meg fogják tudni, hogy próféta van közöttük.
6 De neked, ember fia, nem szabad megijedned tőlük! Attól se félj, amit mondanak! Ha a szavuk megsebez, mint a tövises bozót; vagy éget, mint a csaláncsípés; sőt fájdalmas, mint a skorpió fullánkja, akkor se félj szavaiktól, akkor se rémülj meg tekintetüktől, hiszen ez a nép ellenem lázad! 7 Akármi történik is, szavaimat el kell mondanod nekik! Akár hallgatnak rá, akár nem, neked el kell mondanod, amit üzenek nekik — hiszen ez a nemzedék fellázadt ellenem!
8 Te azonban, ember fia, ne lázadj ellenem, és ne légy engedetlen, mint ez a nép! Figyelj arra, amit neked mondok, és hallgass rám: nyisd ki a szád, és edd meg, amit neked adok!”

Jusqu’à ce jour, eux et leurs ancêtres se sont soulevés contre moi. 4 C’est vers ces gens à la tête dure et au cœur insensible que je t’envoie pour que tu leur dises : « Voici ce que déclare le Seigneur, l’Eternel. » 5 Alors, soit qu’ils écoutent, soit qu’ils refusent d’écouter – car c’est une communauté rebelle – ils sauront du moins qu’il y a un prophète au milieu d’eux.
6 Quant à toi, fils d’homme, ne les crains pas, et ne crains pas leurs paroles, bien que tu sois au milieu d’orties et de ronces et que tu habites avec des scorpions. Ne crains pas leurs paroles et ne tremble pas devant eux, car c’est une communauté rebelle. 7 Tu leur transmettras donc mes paroles, soit qu’ils écoutent, soit qu’ils refusent d’écouter à cause de leur esprit rebelle.
La vision du rouleau
8 Et toi, fils d’homme, écoute ce que je te dis : Ne sois pas toi-même rebelle comme cette communauté rebelle ; ouvre ta bouche et mange ce que je te donne.
9 Je regardai, et je vis une main tendue vers moi qui tenait le rouleau d’un livre[a]. 10 Elle le déroula devant moi : il était couvert d’inscriptions au recto et au verso[b] : c’étaient des plaintes, des lamentations et des cris de malheur.
L’Eternel fortifie son prophète
3 Celui qui me parlait me dit : Fils d’homme, mange ce qui t’est présenté, avale ce rouleau, puis va parler à la communauté d’Israël.
2 J’ouvris la bouche et il me fit manger le rouleau. 3 Puis il me dit : Fils d’homme, nourris ton corps et remplis ton ventre de ce rouleau que je te donne.
Je le mangeai donc et, dans ma bouche, il fut doux comme du miel.

Moses Flees to Midian
11 One day, after Moses had grown up, he went out to his people and saw their forced labor. He saw an Egyptian beating a Hebrew, one of his kinsfolk. 12 He looked this way and that, and seeing no one he killed the Egyptian and hid him in the sand. 13 When he went out the next day, he saw two Hebrews fighting; and he said to the one who was in the wrong, “Why do you strike your fellow Hebrew?” 14 He answered, “Who made you a ruler and judge over us? Do you mean to kill me as you killed the Egyptian?” Then Moses was afraid and thought, “Surely the thing is known.” 15 When Pharaoh heard of it, he sought to kill Moses.
But Moses fled from Pharaoh. He settled in the land of Midian, and sat down by a well. 16 The priest of Midian had seven daughters. They came to draw water, and filled the troughs to water their father’s flock. 17 But some shepherds came and drove them away. Moses got up and came to their defense and watered their flock. 18 When they returned to their father Reuel, he said, “How is it that you have come back so soon today?” 19 They said, “An Egyptian helped us against the shepherds; he even drew water for us and watered the flock.” 20 He said to his daughters, “Where is he? Why did you leave the man? Invite him to break bread.” 21 Moses agreed to stay with the man, and he gave Moses his daughter Zipporah in marriage. 22 She bore a son, and he named him Gershom; for he said, “I have been an alien[a] residing in a foreign land.”

Történetesen éppen szemtanúja volt annak, hogy az egyik egyiptomi férfi egy héber munkást ütlegelt. 12 Körülnézett, és mivel úgy látta, hogy senki sem figyel oda, agyonütötte az egyiptomit, majd elrejtette a homokban.
13 Másnap visszatért arra a helyre, és megdöbbenve látta, hogy ezúttal két héber férfi verekszik egymással. „Miért ütöd a testvéredet?”[a] — kiáltott rá Mózes arra, aki verte a másikat.
14 De az így válaszolt: „Ki vagy te, hogy parancsolgass, vagy ítélkezz fölöttünk? Talán engem is meg akarsz ölni, mint tegnap[b] azt az egyiptomit?!”

Il vit un Egyptien qui rouait de coups l’un de ses frères hébreux. 12 Après avoir regardé de côté et d’autre pour voir s’il n’y avait personne, il frappa l’Egyptien à mort et l’enfouit dans le sable. 13 Le lendemain, il revint et aperçut deux Hébreux qui se battaient. Alors il dit à celui qui avait tort : Pourquoi frappes-tu ton compagnon ?
14 Mais celui-ci répliqua : Qui t’a établi chef et juge[a] sur nous ? Veux-tu aussi me tuer comme tu as tué l’Egyptien ?
Alors Moïse prit peur ; il comprit que l’affaire s’était ébruitée.
La fuite au désert
15 Effectivement, le pharaon apprit ce qui s’était passé et chercha à faire mourir Moïse, mais celui-ci prit la fuite. Il se rendit au pays de Madian[b] et s’assit près d’un puits[c].
16 Le prêtre de Madian avait sept filles. Elles vinrent puiser de l’eau et remplirent les abreuvoirs pour faire boire le petit bétail de leur père. 17 Mais des bergers survinrent et se mirent à les chasser. Alors Moïse intervint pour les défendre et fit boire leur troupeau. 18 Quand elles revinrent vers Reouel[d] leur père, celui-ci leur demanda :
Comment se fait-il que vous soyez si vite de retour aujourd’hui ?
19 – Un Egyptien nous a défendues contre les bergers, dirent-elles, et même : il a puisé pour nous beaucoup d’eau et a fait boire le troupeau.
20 – Où est cet homme à présent ? Pourquoi l’avez-vous laissé là-bas ? Allez le chercher pour qu’il vienne manger chez nous.
21 Moïse accepta de s’établir chez cet homme qui lui donna sa fille Séphora en mariage. 22 Elle lui donna un fils qu’il appela Guershom (Emigré en ces lieux) car, dit-il, je suis un émigré dans une terre étrangère.

He still persists in his integrity, although you incited me against him, to destroy him for no reason.” 4 Then Satan[f] answered the Lord, “Skin for skin! All that people have they will give to save their lives.[g] 5 But stretch out your hand now and touch his bone and his flesh, and he will curse you to your face.” 6 The Lord said to Satan,[h] “Very well, he is in your power; only spare his life.”
7 So Satan[i] went out from the presence of the Lord, and inflicted loathsome sores on Job from the sole of his foot to the crown of his head. 8 Job[j] took a potsherd with which to scrape himself, and sat among the ashes.
9 Then his wife said to him, “Do you still persist in your integrity? Curse[k] God, and die.” 10 But he said to her, “You speak as any foolish woman would speak. Shall we receive the good at the hand of God, and not receive the bad?” In all this Job did not sin with his lips.

Átkozd meg Istent, és halj meg!”

2 L’Eternel dit à l’Accusateur : D’où viens-tu donc ?
Celui-ci lui répondit : Je viens de parcourir la terre et de la sillonner.
3 Alors l’Eternel demanda à l’Accusateur : As-tu remarqué mon serviteur Job ? Il n’y a personne comme lui sur la terre : c’est un homme intègre et droit, un homme qui craint Dieu et qui évite de mal faire. Il persévère toujours dans son intégrité. C’est pour rien que tu m’as incité à l’accabler.
4 L’Accusateur lui répondit : Peau pour peau, tout ce qui est à lui, l’homme y renoncera en échange de sa vie. 5 Mais porte donc la main sur son corps et l’on verra s’il ne te maudit pas en face !
6 Alors l’Eternel dit à l’Accusateur : Il est en ton pouvoir, mais épargne sa vie.
7 Alors l’Accusateur se retira de la présence de l’Eternel et il infligea à Job une douloureuse maladie de peau qui s’étendit de la plante des pieds jusqu’au crâne.
8 Job prit un morceau de poterie pour se gratter, et resta assis au milieu de la cendre.
9 Sa femme lui dit : Tu persévères toujours dans ton intégrité ! Maudis donc Dieu et meurs !
10 Mais il lui répondit : Tu parles comme une insensée. Quoi ! nous recevrions de Dieu le bonheur, et nous ne recevrions pas aussi le malheur !
Au milieu de tous ces malheurs, Job ne commit pas de péché dans tout ce qu’il dit.

20 Now among those who went up to worship at the festival were some Greeks. 21 They came to Philip, who was from Bethsaida in Galilee, and said to him, “Sir, we wish to see Jesus.” 22 Philip went and told Andrew; then Andrew and Philip went and told Jesus. 23 Jesus answered them, “The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified. 24 Very truly, I tell you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains just a single grain; but if it dies, it bears much fruit. 25 Those who love their life lose it, and those who hate their life in this world will keep it for eternal life. 26 Whoever serves me must follow me, and where I am, there will my servant be also. Whoever serves me, the Father will honor.
Jesus Speaks about His Death
27 “Now my soul is troubled. And what should I say—‘Father, save me from this hour’? No, it is for this reason that I have come to this hour. 28 Father, glorify your name.” Then a voice came from heaven, “I have glorified it, and I will glorify it again.” 29 The crowd standing there heard it and said that it was thunder. Others said, “An angel has spoken to him.” 30 Jesus answered, “This voice has come for your sake, not for mine. 31 Now is the judgment of this world; now the ruler of this world will be driven out. 32 And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people[b] to myself.” 33 He said this to indicate the kind of death he was to die. 34 The crowd answered him, “We have heard from the law that the Messiah[c] remains forever. How can you say that the Son of Man must be lifted up? Who is this Son of Man?” 35 Jesus said to them, “The light is with you for a little longer. Walk while you have the light, so that the darkness may not overtake you. If you walk in the darkness, you do not know where you are going. 36 While you have the light, believe in the light, so that you may become children of light.”
The Unbelief of the People
After Jesus had said this, he departed and hid from them. 37 Although he had performed so many signs in their presence, they did not believe in him. 38 This was to fulfill the word spoken by the prophet Isaiah:
“Lord, who has believed our message,
and to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?”
39 And so they could not believe, because Isaiah also said,
40 “He has blinded their eyes
and hardened their heart,
so that they might not look with their eyes,
and understand with their heart and turn—
and I would heal them.”
41 Isaiah said this because[d] he saw his glory and spoke about him. 42 Nevertheless many, even of the authorities, believed in him. But because of the Pharisees they did not confess it, for fear that they would be put out of the synagogue; 43 for they loved human glory more than the glory that comes from God.
Summary of Jesus’ Teaching
44 Then Jesus cried aloud: “Whoever believes in me believes not in me but in him who sent me. 45 And whoever sees me sees him who sent me. 46 I have come as light into the world, so that everyone who believes in me should not remain in the darkness. 47 I do not judge anyone who hears my words and does not keep them, for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world. 48 The one who rejects me and does not receive my word has a judge; on the last day the word that I have spoken will serve as judge, 49 for I have not spoken on my own, but the Father who sent me has himself given me a commandment about what to say and what to speak. 50 And I know that his commandment is eternal life. What I speak, therefore, I speak just as the Father has told me.”

Gesù annuncia la sua crocifissione

A búzaszem példázata
20 A páska ünnepére igen sokan jöttek Jeruzsálembe imádkozni, és voltak közöttük görögök is. 21 Ezek odamentek Fülöphöz, aki a galileai Bétsaidából származott, és megkérték: „Uram, szeretnénk látni Jézust!” Fülöp szólt Andrásnak, 22 azután mindketten odamentek Jézushoz, és szóltak neki.
23 Jézus így válaszolt: „Eljött az idő, hogy az Emberfia megdicsőüljön. 24 Igazán mondom nektek: a búzamagot el kell vetni a földbe, hogy ott elhaljon, azután majd felnő, és gazdag termést hoz. Ha viszont nem hal el, akkor csak egymaga marad.
25 Aki ragaszkodik[a] a lelkéhez, vagyis az életéhez, az el fogja veszíteni. Aki pedig kész feladni a lelkét, vagyis az életét ezen a világon, az megtartja azt az örök életre. 26 Aki nekem szolgál, engem kövessen! Akkor, ahol én vagyok, ott lesz a szolgám is velem. Aki pedig engem szolgál, azt megbecsüli az Atya.”
Jézus előre jelzi a halálát
27 „Most nyugtalan a lelkem, mit is mondhatnék? Kérjem talán azt: »Atyám, ments meg engem ettől az időtől«? Nem! Hiszen éppen ezért jöttem a földre! 28 Inkább azt mondom: »Atyám, szerezz dicsőséget nevednek!«”
Ekkor hang hallatszott a Mennyből: „Dicsőséget szereztem nevemnek eddig is, és most másképpen is megdicsőítem nevemet.”
29 Ezt a sokaság is hallotta, de úgy gondolták, hogy az ég dörgött.
Mások azt mondták, hogy biztosan egy angyal szólt Jézushoz.
30 Ő maga azonban ezt mondta: „Ez a hang nem értem, hanem értetek szólt. 31 Elérkezett az ideje, hogy kihirdessék az elmarasztaló ítéletet e világ fölött! Uram, ki hitt a szavunknak?
37 Bár Jézus sok csodát tett az emberek szeme láttára, azok mégsem hittek benne. 38 Így teljesedett be, amit Ézsaiás próféta mondott:
„Uram, ki hitt a szavunknak,
és ki látta meg az Örökkévaló hatalmát?”[e]
39 Ézsaiás próféta azt is megmondta, miért nem tudtak hinni:
40 „Az Örökkévaló vakította meg a szemüket,
keményítette meg a szívüket,
hogy szemükkel ne lássanak,
hogy szívükkel ne értsenek,
és ne forduljanak hozzá,
hogy meggyógyítsa őket.”[f]
41 Ézsaiás azért mondta ezt, mert látta Jézus dicsőségét, és őróla szólt.
42 Ennek ellenére, sokan hittek Jézusban még a vezetők közül is, de a farizeusok miatt ezt nem vallották meg nyiltan, nehogy kizárják őket a zsinagógai közösségből. 43 Ugyanis fontosabb volt a számukra az emberek elismerése, mint Istené.

La gloire et la mort
20 Parmi ceux qui étaient venus à Jérusalem pour adorer Dieu pendant la fête, il y avait aussi quelques personnes non juives[a]. 21 Elles allèrent trouver Philippe qui était de Bethsaïda en Galilée et lui firent cette demande : Nous aimerions voir Jésus.

23 Celui-ci leur répondit : L’heure est venue où le Fils de l’homme va entrer dans sa gloire. 24 Vraiment, je vous l’assure : si le grain de blé que l’on a jeté en terre ne meurt pas, il reste un grain unique. Mais s’il meurt, il porte du fruit en abondance. 25 Celui qui s’attache à sa propre vie la perdra, mais celui qui fait peu de cas de sa vie en ce monde la gardera pour la vie éternelle. 26 Si quelqu’un veut être à mon service, qu’il me suive. Là où je serai, mon serviteur y sera aussi. Si quelqu’un est à mon service, le Père lui fera honneur.
27 A présent, je suis troublé. Que dirai-je ? Père, délivre-moi de cette heure ? Mais c’est précisément pour cela que je suis venu jusqu’à cette heure ! 28 Père, manifeste ta gloire.
Alors une voix se fit entendre, venant du ciel : J’ai déjà manifesté ma gloire et je la manifesterai à nouveau.
29 La foule qui se trouvait là et qui avait entendu le son de cette voix crut que c’était un coup de tonnerre. D’autres disaient : Un ange vient de lui parler.
30 Mais Jésus leur déclara : Ce n’est pas pour moi que cette voix s’est fait entendre, c’est pour vous. 31 C’est maintenant que va avoir lieu le jugement de ce monde. Oui, maintenant le dominateur de ce monde va être expulsé. 32 Et moi, quand j’aurai été élevé au-dessus de la terre, j’attirerai tout homme à moi.
33 Par cette expression, il faisait allusion à la manière dont il allait mourir. 34 La foule répondit : La Loi nous apprend que le Messie vivra éternellement. Comment peux-tu dire que le Fils de l’homme doit être élevé au-dessus de la terre ? Au fait : qui est donc ce Fils de l’homme ?
35 Jésus leur dit alors : La lumière est encore parmi vous, pour un peu de temps : marchez tant que vous avez la lumière, pour ne pas vous laisser surprendre par les ténèbres, car celui qui marche dans les ténèbres ne sait pas où il va. 36 Tant que vous avez la lumière, croyez en la lumière, afin de devenir vous-mêmes des enfants de lumière.
Après avoir dit cela, Jésus s’en alla et se tint caché loin d’eux.
Les Juifs restent incrédules
37 Malgré le grand nombre de signes miraculeux que Jésus avait accomplis devant eux, ils ne croyaient pas en lui.
38 Ainsi s’accomplit ce que le prophète Esaïe avait prédit :
Seigneur, qui a cru à notre message
et à qui la puissance du Seigneur a-t-elle été révélée[b] ?
39 Pourquoi ne pouvaient-ils pas croire ? C’est encore Esaïe qui nous en donne la raison quand il dit :
40 Dieu les a aveuglés,
il les a rendus insensibles,
afin qu’ils ne voient pas de leurs yeux,
qu’ils ne comprennent pas avec leur intelligence,
qu’ils ne se tournent pas vers lui
pour qu’il les guérisse[c] .
41 Esaïe a dit cela parce qu’il avait vu la gloire de Jésus et qu’il parlait de lui.
42 Et pourtant, même parmi les dirigeants, beaucoup crurent en lui ; mais, à cause des pharisiens, ils n’osaient pas le reconnaître ouvertement de peur d’être exclus de la synagogue. 43 Car ils tenaient davantage à la gloire qui vient des hommes qu’à celle qui vient de Dieu.
L’appel à la foi
44 Jésus déclara à haute voix : Si quelqu’un met sa confiance en moi, ce n’est pas en moi seulement qu’il croit, mais encore en celui qui m’a envoyé. 45 Qui me voit, voit aussi celui qui m’a envoyé. 46 C’est pour être la lumière que je suis venu dans le monde, afin que tout homme qui croit en moi ne demeure pas dans les ténèbres. 47 Si quelqu’un entend ce que je dis, mais ne le met pas en pratique, ce n’est pas moi qui le jugerai ; car je ne suis pas venu pour juger le monde mais pour le sauver.
48 Celui donc qui me méprise et qui ne tient pas compte de mes paroles a déjà son juge : c’est cette Parole même que j’ai prononcée ; elle le jugera au dernier jour. 49 Car je n’ai pas parlé de ma propre initiative : le Père, qui m’a envoyé, m’a ordonné lui-même ce que je dois dire et enseigner. 50 Or je le sais bien : l’enseignement que m’a confié le Père c’est la vie éternelle. Ce qu’elle vient d’accomplir pour moi est vraiment une belle action. 11 Des pauvres, vous en aurez toujours autour de vous ; mais moi, vous ne m’aurez pas toujours avec vous. 12 Si elle a répandu cette myrrhe sur moi, c’est pour préparer mon enterrement. 13 Vraiment, je vous l’assure, dans le monde entier, partout où cette Bonne Nouvelle qu’est l’Evangile sera annoncée, on racontera aussi, en souvenir d’elle, ce qu’elle vient de faire.

14 Alors, l’un des Douze, celui qui s’appelait Judas Iscariot, se rendit auprès des chefs des prêtres 15 pour leur demander : Si je me charge de vous livrer Jésus, quelle somme me donnerez-vous ?
Ils lui versèrent trente pièces d’argent. 16 A partir de ce moment-là, il chercha une occasion favorable pour leur livrer Jésus.
