⁶ And they rose up early the next day and offered burnt offerings and brought peace offerings. And ^(A)the people sat down to eat and drink and rose up ^(B)to play.

²⁵ And when Moses saw that the people had broken loose (for Aaron had let them break loose, ^(A)to the derision of their enemies),

²³ because they have done an outrageous thing in Israel, ^(A)they have committed adultery with their neighbors' wives, and ^(B)they have spoken in my name lying words that I did not command them. ^(C)I am the one who knows, ^(D)and I am witness, declares the Lord.’”

^9 (A)There are men in you who slander to shed blood, and people in you ^(B)who eat on the mountains; ^(C)they commit lewdness in your midst. ¹⁰ In you ^(D)men uncover their fathers' nakedness; in you they violate women who are unclean in their menstrual impurity. ^11 (E)One commits abomination with his neighbor's wife; ^(F)another lewdly defiles his daughter-in-law; ^(G)another in you violates his sister, his father's daughter.

^26 (A)You rely on the sword, ^(B)you commit abominations, and ^(C)each of you defiles his neighbor's wife; shall you then possess the land?
