⁶ And Moses said to Aaron, and to Eleazar and Ithamar, his sons, “Do not ^[a]uncover your heads nor tear your clothes, lest you die, and ^(A)wrath come upon all the people. But let your brethren, the whole house of Israel, ^[b]bewail the burning which the Lord has kindled. ^7 (B)You shall not go out from the door of the tabernacle of meeting, lest you die, ^(C)for the anointing oil of the Lord is upon you.” And they did according to the word of Moses.

The Prophet’s Wife Dies

¹⁵ Also the word of the Lord came to me, saying, ¹⁶ “Son of man, behold, I take away from you the desire of your eyes with one stroke; yet you shall ^(A)neither mourn nor weep, nor shall your tears run down. ¹⁷ Sigh in silence, ^(B)make no mourning for the dead; ^(C)bind your turban on your head, and ^(D)put your sandals on your feet; ^(E)do not cover your ^[a]lips, and do not eat man’s bread of sorrow.”
