Genesis 12:6-13

6 Abram (A)passed through the land to the place at Shechem, to (B)the oak[a] of (C)Moreh. At that time (D)the Canaanites were in the land. 7 Then the Lord appeared to Abram and said, (E)“To your offspring I will give this land.” So he built there an altar to the Lord, who had appeared to him. 8 From there he moved to the hill country on the east of (F)Bethel and pitched his tent, with Bethel on the west and Ai on the east. And there he built an altar to the Lord and called upon the name of the Lord. 9 And Abram journeyed on, still going toward the Negeb.

10 Now (G)there was a famine in the land. So Abram went down to Egypt to sojourn there, for the famine was severe in the land. 11 When he was about to enter Egypt, he said to Sarai his wife, “I know that you are a woman beautiful in appearance, 12 and when the Egyptians see you, they will say, ‘This is his wife.’ Then they (H)will kill me, but they will let you live. 13 Say you are my sister, that it may go well with me because of you, and that my life may be spared for your sake.”

Genesis 12:6-13
New International Version
6 Abram traveled through the land(A) as far as the site of the great tree of Moreh(B) at Shechem.(C) At that time the Canaanites(D) were in the land. 7 The Lord appeared to Abram(E) and said, “To your offspring[a] I will give this land.(F)”(G) So he built an altar there to the Lord,(H) who had appeared to him.
8 From there he went on toward the hills east of Bethel(I) and pitched his tent,(J) with Bethel on the west and Ai(K) on the east. There he built an altar to the Lord and called on the name of the Lord.(L)
9 Then Abram set out and continued toward the Negev.(M)
Abram in Egypt(N)
10 Now there was a famine in the land,(O) and Abram went down to Egypt to live there for a while because the famine was severe.(P) 11 As he was about to enter Egypt, he said to his wife Sarai,(Q) “I know what a beautiful woman(R) you are. 12 When the Egyptians see you, they will say, ‘This is his wife.’ Then they will kill me but will let you live. 13 Say you are my sister,(S) so that I will be treated well for your sake and my life will be spared because of you.”
