13 ^(A)“On that day there shall be ^(B)a fountain opened for the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, to cleanse them from sin and uncleanness.

Idolatry Cut Off

² “And ^(C)on that day, declares the Lord of hosts, ^(D)I will cut off the names of the idols from the land, so that ^(E)they shall be remembered no more. And also ^(F)I will remove from the land the prophets and the spirit of uncleanness. ³ And if anyone again prophesies, his father and mother who bore him will say to him, ^(G)‘You shall not live, for you speak lies in the name of the Lord.’ And his father and mother who bore him shall pierce him through when he prophesies.

⁴ “On that day ^(H)every prophet will be ashamed of his vision when he prophesies. He will not put on a hairy cloak in order to deceive, ⁵ but he will say, ^(I)‘I am no prophet, I am a worker of the soil, for a man sold me in my youth.’^{[a] 6} And if one asks him, ‘What are these wounds on your back?’^[b] he will say, ‘The wounds I received in the house of my friends.’

The Coming Day of the Lord

14 Behold, ^(Q)a day is coming for the Lord, when the spoil taken from you will be divided in your midst. ² For ^(R)I will gather all the nations against Jerusalem to battle, and ^(S)the city shall be taken ^(T)and the houses plundered ^(U)and the women raped. ^(V)Half of the city shall go out into exile, but the rest of the people shall not be cut off from the city. ^3 (W)Then the Lord will go out and fight against those nations as when he fights on a day of battle. ^4 (X)On that day his feet shall stand ^(Y)on ^(Z)the Mount of Olives that lies before Jerusalem on the east, and ^(AA)the Mount of Olives shall be split in two from east to west by ^(AB)a very wide valley, so that one half of the Mount shall move northward, and the other half southward. ⁵ And you shall flee to the valley of my mountains, for the valley of the mountains shall reach to Azal. And you shall flee as you fled from ^(AC)the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah. Then the Lord my God will come, and all the holy ones with him.^[c]

^6 (AD)On that day ^(AE)there shall be ^(AF)no light, cold, or frost.^{[d] 7 (AG)}And there shall be a unique^[e] day, ^(AH)which is known to the Lord, neither day nor night, but ^(AI)at evening time there shall be light.

^8 (AJ)On that day ^(AK)living waters shall flow out from Jerusalem, half of them to ^(AL)the eastern sea^[f] and half of them to ^(AM)the western sea.^{[g] (AN)}It shall continue in summer as in winter.

⁹ And ^(AO)the Lord will be king over all the earth. ^(AP)On that day the Lord will be ^(AQ)one and ^(AR)his name one.

^10 (AS)The whole land shall be turned into a plain from ^(AT)Geba to ^(AU)Rimmon south of Jerusalem. But ^(AV)Jerusalem shall remain aloft ^(AW)on its site from ^(AX)the Gate of Benjamin to the place of the former gate, to ^(AY)the Corner Gate, and from ^(AZ)the Tower of Hananel to the king's winepresses. ¹¹ And it shall be inhabited, for ^(BA)there shall never again be a decree of utter destruction.^{[h] (BB)}Jerusalem shall dwell in security.

¹² And this shall be ^(BC)the plague with which the Lord will strike all the peoples that wage war against Jerusalem: their flesh will rot while they are still standing on their feet, their eyes will rot in their sockets, and their tongues will rot in their mouths.

¹³ And ^(BD)on that day a great panic from the Lord shall fall on them, so that ^(BE)each will seize the hand of another, and the hand of the one will be raised against the hand of the other. ¹⁴ Even ^(BF)Judah will fight at Jerusalem.^[i] And ^(BG)the wealth of all the surrounding nations shall be collected, gold, silver, and garments in great abundance. ¹⁵ And ^(BH)a plague like this plague shall fall on the horses, the mules, the camels, the donkeys, and whatever beasts may be in those camps.

¹⁶ Then everyone who survives of all the nations that have come against Jerusalem ^(BI)shall go up year after year to worship ^(BJ)the King, the Lord of hosts, and ^(BK)to keep ^(BL)the Feast of Booths. ¹⁷ And if ^(BM)any of the families of the earth do not go up to Jerusalem to worship ^(BN)the King, the Lord of hosts, ^(BO)there will be no rain on them. ¹⁸ And if the family of Egypt does not go up and present themselves, then on them there shall be no rain;^[j] there shall be ^(BP)the plague with which the Lord afflicts the nations that do not go up ^(BQ)to keep the Feast of Booths. ¹⁹ This shall be the punishment to Egypt and the punishment to all the nations that do not go up ^(BR)to keep the Feast of Booths.

²⁰ And ^(BS)on that day there shall be inscribed on the bells of the horses, ^(BT)“Holy to the Lord.” And the pots in the house of the Lord shall be as the bowls before the altar. ²¹ And every pot in Jerusalem and Judah shall be ^(BU)holy to the Lord of hosts, so that all who sacrifice may come and take of them and boil the meat of the sacrifice in them. And ^(BV)there shall no longer be ^(BW)a trader^[k] in the house of the Lord of hosts ^(BX)on that day.

Rejoicing in Heaven

19 After this I heard ^(A)what seemed to be the loud voice of a great multitude in heaven, crying out,

³ Once more they cried out,

⁴ And ^(G)the twenty-four elders and the four living creatures fell down and worshiped God who was seated on the throne, saying, “Amen. Hallelujah!” ⁵ And from the throne came a voice saying,

The Marriage Supper of the Lamb

⁶ Then I heard what seemed to be ^(J)the voice of a great multitude, like ^(K)the roar of many waters and ^(L)like the sound of mighty peals of thunder, crying out,

for the fine linen is ^(Q)the righteous deeds of the saints.

⁹ And the angel said^[a] to me, “Write this: ^(R)Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.” And he said to me, ^(S)“These are the true words of God.” ¹⁰ Then ^(T)I fell down at his feet to worship him, ^(U)but he said to me, “You must not do that! I am a fellow servant with you and your brothers who hold to ^(V)the testimony of Jesus. Worship God.” For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

The Rider on a White Horse

¹¹ Then I saw ^(W)heaven opened, and behold, ^(X)a white horse! The one sitting on it is called ^(Y)Faithful and True, and ^(Z)in righteousness he judges and makes war. ^12 (AA)His eyes are like a flame of fire, and on his head are ^(AB)many diadems, and he has ^(AC)a name written that no one knows but himself. ¹³ He is clothed in ^(AD)a robe dipped in^[b] blood, and the name by which he is called is ^(AE)The Word of God. ¹⁴ And the armies of heaven, ^(AF)arrayed in fine linen, white and pure, ^(AG)were following him on white horses. ^15 (AH)From his mouth comes a sharp sword ^(AI)with which to strike down the nations, and ^(AJ)he will rule^[c] them with a rod of iron. ^(AK)He will tread the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God the Almighty. ¹⁶ On his robe and on his thigh ^(AL)he has a name written, ^(AM)King of kings and Lord of lords.

¹⁷ Then I saw an angel standing in the sun, and with a loud voice he called to ^(AN)all the birds that fly directly overhead, ^(AO)“Come, gather for ^(AP)the great supper of God, ^18 (AQ)to eat the flesh of kings, the flesh of captains, the flesh of mighty men, the flesh of horses and their riders, and the flesh of all men, both free and slave,^[d] both small and great.” ¹⁹ And I saw ^(AR)the beast and the kings of the earth with their armies ^(AS)gathered to make war against him who was sitting on the horse and against his army. ²⁰ And the beast was captured, and with it ^(AT)the false prophet ^(AU)who in its presence^[e] had done the signs by which he deceived those who had received the mark of the beast and those who ^(AV)worshiped its image. These two were ^(AW)thrown alive into the lake of ^(AX)fire that burns with sulfur. ²¹ And the rest were slain by the sword ^(AY)that came from the mouth of him who was sitting on the horse, and ^(AZ)all the birds were gorged with their flesh.
