8 Och när Lammet bröt det sjunde inseglet, uppstod i himmelen en tystnad, som varade vid pass en halv timme.
2 Och jag fick se de sju änglar, som stå inför Gud; åt dem gåvos sju basuner.
3 Och en annan ängel kom och ställde sig vid altaret, och han hade ett gyllene rökelsekar; och mycken rökelse var given åt honom, för att han skulle lägga den till alla de heligas böner på det gyllene altare som stod framför tronen.
4 Och ur ängelns hand steg röken av rökelsen med de heligas böner upp inför Gud.
5 Och ängeln tog rökelsekaret och fyllde det med eld från altaret och kastade elden ned på jorden. Då kommo tordön och dunder och ljungeldar och jordbävning.
6 Och de sju änglarna, som hade de sju basunerna, gjorde sig redo att stöta i sina basuner.
7 Och den förste stötte i sin basun. Då kom hagel och eld, blandat med blod, och det kastades ned på jorden; och tredjedelen av jorden brändes upp, och tredjedelen av träden brändes upp, och allt grönt gräs brändes upp.
8 Och den andre ängeln stötte i sin basun. Då var det som om ett stort brinnande berg hade blivit kastat i havet; och tredjedelen av havet blev blod.
9 Och tredjedelen av de levande varelser som funnos i havet omkom; och tredjedelen av skeppen förgicks.
10 Och den tredje ängeln stötte i sin basun. Då föll från himmelen en stor stjärna, brinnande såsom ett bloss; och den föll ned över tredjedelen av strömmarna och över vattenkällorna.
11 Och stjärnans namn var Malört. Och tredjedelen av vattnet blev bitter malört; och många människor omkommo genom vattnet, därför att det hade blivit så bittert.
12 Och den fjärde ängeln stötte i sin basun. Då drabbade hemsökelsen tredjedelen av solen och tredjedelen av månen och tredjedelen av stjärnorna, så att tredjedelen av dem förmörkades och dagen miste tredjedelen av sitt ljus, sammalunda ock natten.
13 Sedan fick jag i min syn höra en örn, som flög fram uppe i himlarymden, ropa med hög röst: »Ve, ve, ve över jordens inbyggare, när de tre övriga änglar, som skola stöta i basun, låta sina basuner ljuda!»

8 När Lammet bröt det sjunde sigillet, blev det tyst i himlen omkring en halv timme.
De sju änglarna med de sju basunerna
2 Och jag såg de sju änglarna[a] som står inför Gud, och åt dem gavs sju basuner. 3 Då kom en annan ängel, som hade ett rökelsekar av guld, och ställde sig vid altaret. Åt honom gavs mycket rökelse, som han skulle lägga till alla de heligas böner på guldaltaret framför tronen. 4 Och röken från rökelsen tillsammans med de heligas böner steg från ängelns hand upp inför Gud. 5 Ängeln tog rökelsekaret, fyllde det med elden från altaret och kastade ner den på jorden, och det åskade, dundrade och blixtrade och jorden skälvde. 6 Och de sju änglarna med de sju basunerna gjorde sig redo att blåsa i dem.
De fyra första basunerna
7 Den första ängeln blåste i sin basun. Då kom det hagel och eld, blandat med blod, och det kastades ner på jorden. En tredjedel av jorden brändes upp liksom en tredjedel av träden, och allt grönt gräs sveddes av.
8 Den andra ängeln blåste i sin basun. Då var det som om ett stort brinnande berg hade kastats i havet. En tredjedel av havet blev till blod, 9 och en tredjedel av allt liv i havet dog, och en tredjedel av alla fartyg gick under.
10 Den tredje ängeln blåste i sin basun. Då föll en stor stjärna, brinnande som en fackla, ner från himlen, och den föll över en tredjedel av floderna och vattenkällorna. 11 Stjärnans namn är Malört. En tredjedel av vattnen förvandlades då till malört, och många människor dog av vattnen, som hade blivit förgiftade.
12 Den fjärde ängeln blåste i sin basun. Då träffades en tredjedel av solen och en tredjedel av månen och en tredjedel av stjärnorna, så att tredjedelen av dem förmörkades och dagen förlorade tredjedelen av sitt ljus, och natten likaså.
13 Och jag såg, och jag hörde en örn flyga högst uppe på himlen. Den ropade med hög röst: "Ve, ve, ve över jordens invånare för de basunstötar som återstår, när de tre andra änglarna blåser i sina basuner."

8 When the Lamb broke the (A)seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about half an hour. 2 And I saw (B)the seven angels who stand before God, and seven (C)trumpets were given to them.
3 (D)Another angel came and stood at the (E)altar, holding a (F)golden censer; and much (G)incense was given to him, so that he might [a]add it to the (H)prayers of all the [b]saints on the (I)golden altar which was before the throne. 4 And (J)the smoke of the incense ascended from the angel’s hand with the prayers of the [c]saints before God. 5 Then the angel [d]took the [e]censer and (K)filled it with the fire of the altar, and (L)hurled it to the earth; and there were (M)peals of thunder and sounds, and flashes of lightning and an (N)earthquake.
6 (O)And the seven angels who had the seven trumpets prepared themselves to sound them.
7 The first sounded, and there was (P)hail and fire mixed with blood, and it was hurled to the earth; and (Q)a third of the earth was burned up, and (R)a third of the (S)trees were burned up, and all the green (T)grass was burned up.
8 The second angel sounded, and something like a great (U)mountain burning with fire was hurled into the sea; and (V)a third of the (W)sea became blood, 9 and (X)a third of the creatures which were in the sea [f]and had life, died; and a third of the (Y)ships were destroyed.
10 The third angel sounded, and a great star (Z)fell from heaven, burning like a torch, and it fell on a (AA)third of the rivers and on the (AB)springs of waters. 11 The star is named Wormwood; and a (AC)third of the waters became (AD)wormwood, and many people died from the waters because they were made bitter.
12 The fourth angel sounded, and a (AE)third of the (AF)sun, a third of the (AG)moon, and a (AH)third of the (AI)stars were struck, so that a (AJ)third of them would be darkened and the day would not shine for a (AK)third of it, and the night in the same way.
13 Then I looked, and I heard [g]an eagle flying in (AL)midheaven, saying with a loud voice, “(AM)Woe, woe, woe to (AN)those who live on the earth, because of the remaining blasts of the trumpet of the (AO)three angels who are about to sound!”

The Seventh Seal and the Golden Censer
8 When he opened the seventh seal,(A) there was silence in heaven for about half an hour.
2 And I saw the seven angels(B) who stand before God, and seven trumpets were given to them.(C)
3 Another angel,(D) who had a golden censer, came and stood at the altar. He was given much incense to offer, with the prayers of all God’s people,(E) on the golden altar(F) in front of the throne. 4 The smoke of the incense, together with the prayers of God’s people, went up before God(G) from the angel’s hand. 5 Then the angel took the censer, filled it with fire from the altar,(H) and hurled it on the earth; and there came peals of thunder,(I) rumblings, flashes of lightning and an earthquake.(J)
The Trumpets
6 Then the seven angels who had the seven trumpets(K) prepared to sound them.
7 The first angel(L) sounded his trumpet, and there came hail and fire(M) mixed with blood, and it was hurled down on the earth. A third(N) of the earth was burned up, a third of the trees were burned up, and all the green grass was burned up.(O)
8 The second angel sounded his trumpet, and something like a huge mountain,(P) all ablaze, was thrown into the sea. A third(Q) of the sea turned into blood,(R) 9 a third(S) of the living creatures in the sea died, and a third of the ships were destroyed.
10 The third angel sounded his trumpet, and a great star, blazing like a torch, fell from the sky(T) on a third of the rivers and on the springs of water(U)— 11 the name of the star is Wormwood.[a] A third(V) of the waters turned bitter, and many people died from the waters that had become bitter.(W)
12 The fourth angel sounded his trumpet, and a third of the sun was struck, a third of the moon, and a third of the stars, so that a third(X) of them turned dark.(Y) A third of the day was without light, and also a third of the night.(Z)
13 As I watched, I heard an eagle that was flying in midair(AA) call out in a loud voice: “Woe! Woe! Woe(AB) to the inhabitants of the earth,(AC) because of the trumpet blasts about to be sounded by the other three angels!”
