¹⁴ who ^(A)gave Himself for us ^(B)to redeem us from every lawless deed, and to ^(C)purify for Himself a ^(D)people for His own possession, ^(E)eager for good deeds.

²⁴ and let’s consider how ^(A)to ^[a]encourage one another in love and ^(B)good deeds,

²⁴ You see that a person is justified by works and not by faith alone. ²⁵ In the same way, was ^(A)Rahab the prostitute not justified by works also ^(B)when she received the messengers and sent them out by another way? ²⁶ For just as the body without the spirit is dead, so also ^(C)faith without works is dead.

¹⁹ You believe that ^[a](A)God is one. ^(B)You do well; ^(C)the demons also believe, and shudder. ²⁰ But are you willing to acknowledge, ^(D)you foolish person, that ^(E)faith without works is useless?
