Salmo a Salomón.
72 Oh Dios, da tus juicios al rey(A),
y tu justicia al hijo del rey(B).
2 Juzgue[a] él[b] a tu pueblo con justicia(C),
y a tus afligidos[c] con equidad(D).
3 Traigan[d] paz[e] los montes al pueblo,
y[f] justicia(E) los collados.
4 Haga él justicia a los afligidos[g] del pueblo,
salve a los hijos de los pobres,
y aplaste[h] al opresor(F).
5 Que te teman[i] mientras duren el sol y la luna[j](G),
por todas las generaciones.
6 Descienda[k] él como la lluvia sobre la hierba cortada(H),
como aguaceros que riegan la tierra(I).
7 Florezca[l] la justicia[m] en sus días(J),
y abundancia de paz(K) hasta que no haya luna.
8 Domine[n] él de mar a mar,
y desde el río hasta los confines de la tierra(L).
9 Dobléguense[o] ante él(M) los moradores del desierto(N),
y sus enemigos laman[p] el polvo(O).
10 Los reyes de Tarsis(P) y de las islas[q](Q) traigan[r] presentes;
los reyes de Sabá(R) y de Seba(S) ofrezcan[s] tributo[t](T);
11 y póstrense[u] ante él todos los reyes de la tierra(U);
sírvanle[v] todas las naciones(V).
12 Porque él librará al necesitado cuando clame,
también al afligido[w] y al que no tiene quien le auxilie(W).
13 Tendrá compasión del pobre y del necesitado(X),
y la vida[x] de los necesitados salvará.
14 Rescatará[y] su vida[z](Y) de la opresión y de la violencia,
y su sangre será preciosa ante sus ojos(Z).
15 Que viva, pues, y se le dé del oro de Sabá(AA),
y que se ore por él continuamente;
que todo el día se le bendiga[aa].
16 Haya[ab] abundancia de grano en la tierra, en las cumbres de los montes;
su fruto se mecerá como los cedros del Líbano(AB);
y los de la ciudad florezcan[ac] como la hierba de la tierra(AC).
17 Sea su nombre para siempre(AD);
que su nombre se engrandezca[ad] mientras dure el[ae] sol(AE),
y sean benditos por él los hombres(AF);
llámenlo[af] bienaventurado todas las naciones(AG).
18 Bendito sea el Señor Dios, el Dios de Israel(AH),
el único que hace maravillas(AI).
19 Bendito sea su glorioso nombre(AJ) para siempre,
sea llena de su gloria toda la tierra(AK).

1 Für Salomo.[a]
O Gott, gib deine Rechtssprüche dem König
und deine Gerechtigkeit dem Königssohn,
2 damit er dein Volk richte mit Gerechtigkeit
und deine Elenden nach dem Recht.
3 Lass die Berge dem Volk Frieden[b] spenden
und auch die Hügel, durch Gerechtigkeit.
4 Er schaffe den Elenden des Volkes Recht;
er helfe den Kindern der Armen
und zertrete den Gewalttätigen.
5 So wird man dich fürchten, solange die Sonne besteht,
und der Mond, von Geschlecht zu Geschlecht.
6 Er wird herabkommen wie Regen auf die Aue,
wie Regenschauer, die das Land bewässern.
7 In seinen Tagen wird der Gerechte blühen,
und Fülle von Frieden wird sein, bis der Mond nicht mehr ist.
8 Und er wird herrschen von Meer zu Meer
und vom Strom bis an die Enden der Erde.
9 Vor ihm werden sich die Wüstenvölker beugen,
und seine Feinde werden Staub lecken.
10 Die Könige von Tarsis[c] und von den Inseln werden Gaben bringen,
die Könige von Saba und Seba[d] werden Tribut entrichten.
11 Alle Könige werden sich vor ihm niederwerfen,
alle Heidenvölker werden ihm dienen.
12 Denn er wird den Armen retten, wenn er um Hilfe schreit,
und den Elenden, der keinen Helfer hat.
13 Über den Geringen und Armen wird er sich erbarmen,
und die Seelen der Armen retten.
14 Er wird ihre Seele erlösen aus Bedrückung und Gewalt,
und ihr Blut wird kostbar sein in seinen Augen.
15 Und er wird leben,
und man wird ihm vom Gold aus Saba geben;
und man wird allezeit für ihn beten,
täglich wird man ihn segnen[e].
16 Es wird Überfluss an Getreide sein im Land, bis hinauf zu den Bergeshöhen;
wie der Libanon werden seine Fruchtbäume rauschen,
und sie werden hervorblühen aus der Stadt wie das Gras auf dem Land.
17 Sein Name bleibt ewiglich;
sein Ruhm wird wachsen[f], solange die Sonne scheint;
in ihm werden gesegnet sein alle Heiden,
sie werden ihn glücklich preisen!
18 Gepriesen sei Gott, der Herr, der Gott Israels,
der allein Wunder tut!
19 Ja, gepriesen sei sein herrlicher Name ewiglich,
und die ganze Erde sei erfüllt von seiner Herrlichkeit!
Amen, ja, Amen!

Of Solomon.
1 Endow the king with your justice,(A) O God,
the royal son with your righteousness.
2 May he judge your people in righteousness,(B)
your afflicted ones with justice.
3 May the mountains bring prosperity to the people,
the hills the fruit of righteousness.
4 May he defend the afflicted(C) among the people
and save the children of the needy;(D)
may he crush the oppressor.(E)
5 May he endure[a](F) as long as the sun,
as long as the moon, through all generations.(G)
6 May he be like rain(H) falling on a mown field,
like showers watering the earth.
7 In his days may the righteous flourish(I)
and prosperity abound till the moon is no more.
8 May he rule from sea to sea
and from the River[b](J) to the ends of the earth.(K)
9 May the desert tribes bow before him
and his enemies lick the dust.
10 May the kings of Tarshish(L) and of distant shores(M)
bring tribute to him.
May the kings of Sheba(N) and Seba
present him gifts.(O)
11 May all kings bow down(P) to him
and all nations serve(Q) him.
12 For he will deliver the needy who cry out,
the afflicted who have no one to help.
13 He will take pity(R) on the weak and the needy
and save the needy from death.
14 He will rescue(S) them from oppression and violence,
for precious(T) is their blood in his sight.
15 Long may he live!
May gold from Sheba(U) be given him.
May people ever pray for him
and bless him all day long.(V)
16 May grain(W) abound throughout the land;
on the tops of the hills may it sway.
May the crops(X) flourish like Lebanon(Y)
and thrive[c] like the grass of the field.(Z)
17 May his name endure forever;(AA)
may it continue as long as the sun.(AB)
18 Praise be to the Lord God, the God of Israel,(AD)
who alone does marvelous deeds.(AE)
