Cántico para los peregrinos que suben a Jerusalén.
132 Señor, acuérdate de David
y de todo lo que sufrió.
2 Le hizo una promesa solemne al Señor;
le juró al Poderoso de Israel:[a]
3 «No iré a mi hogar
ni me permitiré descansar;
4 no dejaré que mis ojos duerman
ni cerraré los párpados adormecidos
5 hasta que encuentre un lugar donde construir una casa para el Señor,
un santuario para el Poderoso de Israel».
6 Oímos que el arca estaba en Efrata;
luego la encontramos en los campos distantes de Jaar.
7 Vayamos al santuario del Señor;
adoremos al pie de su trono.
8 Levántate, oh Señor, y entra en tu lugar de descanso,
junto con el arca, símbolo de tu poder.
9 Que tus sacerdotes se vistan de santidad;
que tus leales servidores canten de alegría.
10 Por amor a tu siervo David,
no rechaces al rey que has ungido.
11 El Señor le hizo un juramento a David
con una promesa que nunca retirará:
«Pondré a uno de tus descendientes
en tu trono.
12 Si tus descendientes obedecen las condiciones de mi pacto
y las leyes que les enseño,
entonces tu linaje real
continuará por siempre y para siempre».
13 Pues el Señor ha escogido a Jerusalén;[b]
ha querido que sea su hogar.
14 «Este es mi lugar de descanso para siempre—dijo—;
viviré aquí porque este es el hogar que he deseado.
15 Bendeciré a esta ciudad y la haré próspera;
saciaré a sus pobres con alimento.
16 Vestiré a sus sacerdotes con santidad;
sus fieles servidores cantarán de alegría.
17 Aquí aumentaré el poder de David;
mi ungido será una luz para mi pueblo.
18 Vestiré de vergüenza a sus enemigos,
pero él será un rey glorioso».

A song of ascents.
1 Lord, remember David
and all his self-denial.(B)
2 He swore an oath to the Lord,
he made a vow to the Mighty One of Jacob:(C)
3 “I will not enter my house(D)
or go to my bed,
4 I will allow no sleep to my eyes
or slumber to my eyelids,
5 till I find a place(E) for the Lord,
a dwelling for the Mighty One of Jacob.”
6 We heard it in Ephrathah,(F)
we came upon it in the fields of Jaar:[a](G)
7 “Let us go to his dwelling place,(H)
let us worship at his footstool,(I) saying,
8 ‘Arise, Lord,(J) and come to your resting place,
you and the ark of your might.
9 May your priests be clothed with your righteousness;(K)
may your faithful people(L) sing for joy.’”
10 For the sake of your servant David,
do not reject your anointed one.
11 The Lord swore an oath to David,(M)
a sure oath he will not revoke:
“One of your own descendants(N)
I will place on your throne.
12 If your sons keep my covenant(O)
and the statutes I teach them,
then their sons will sit
on your throne(P) for ever and ever.”
13 For the Lord has chosen Zion,(Q)
he has desired it for his dwelling,(R) saying,
14 “This is my resting place for ever and ever;(S)
here I will sit enthroned,(T) for I have desired it.
15 I will bless her with abundant provisions;
her poor I will satisfy with food.(U)
16 I will clothe her priests(V) with salvation,
and her faithful people will ever sing for joy.(W)
