1 Dichoso es quien
no sigue el consejo de los malvados,
ni se detiene en la senda de los pecadores,
ni se sienta en la reunión de los burladores,
2 sino que en la Ley del Señor se deleita
y día y noche medita en ella.
3 Es como el árbol plantado a la orilla de un río
que, cuando llega su tiempo, da fruto
y sus hojas jamás se marchitan.
Todo cuanto hace prospera.
4 En cambio, los malvados
son como paja arrastrada por el viento.
5 Por eso no se sostendrán los malvados en el juicio
ni los pecadores en la asamblea de los justos.
6 Porque el Señor cuida el camino de los justos,
mas la senda de los malvados lleva a la perdición.

Psalmul 1
1 Ferice de omul care nu se duce la sfatul celor răi,
nu se opreşte pe calea celor păcătoşi
şi nu se aşază pe scaunul celor batjocoritori!
2 Ci îşi găseşte plăcerea în Legea Domnului
şi zi şi noapte cugetă la Legea Lui.
3 El este ca un pom
sădit lângă nişte izvoare de apă,
care-şi dă rodul la vremea lui
şi ale cărui frunze nu se veştejesc.
El prosperă în tot ceea ce face!
4 Cei răi însă nu sunt aşa,
ci ei se aseamănă cu pleava
spulberată de vânt.
5 De aceea cei răi nu pot sta în picioare la judecată
şi nici cei păcătoşi în adunarea celor drepţi.
6 Căci Domnul cunoaşte calea celor drepţi;
calea celor răi însă duce la pieire.

The Ways of the Righteous and the Wicked
1 Blessed is the man who does not walk in the advice of the wicked;
nor does he stand in the way of sinners;
nor does he sit in the assembly of mockers.
2 Instead, in the law of Yahweh is his delight,
and on his law he meditates day and night.
3 And so, he is like a tree planted by streams of water
that gives its fruit in its season;
its leaf also does not wither.
Therefore all that he does prospers.
4 Not so the wicked.
Instead, they are like the chaff that the wind scatters.
5 Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment,
nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous;
6 for Yahweh knows the way of the righteous,[a]
but the way of the wicked will perish.
