¹⁸ [For Abraham, human reason for] hope being gone, hoped in faith that he should become the father of many nations, as he had been promised, So [numberless] shall your descendants be.^(A)

¹⁹ [Now] we have this [hope] as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul [it cannot slip and it cannot ^[a]break down under whoever steps out upon it—a hope] that reaches ^[b]farther and enters into [the very certainty of the Presence] within the veil,^(A)

¹⁴ But I will hope continually, and will praise You yet more and more.
