8 And all who (A)dwell on the earth will worship him, everyone (B)whose name has not been [a]written (C)from the foundation of the world in the (D)book of life of (E)the Lamb who has been slain. 9 (F)If anyone has an ear, let him hear. 10 (G)If anyone [b]is destined for captivity, to captivity he goes; (H)if anyone kills with the sword, with the sword he must be killed. Here is (I)the perseverance and the faith of the saints.

8 All inhabitants of the earth(A) will worship the beast—all whose names have not been written in the Lamb’s book of life,(B) the Lamb(C) who was slain from the creation of the world.[a](D)
9 Whoever has ears, let them hear.(E)
10 “If anyone is to go into captivity,
into captivity they will go.
If anyone is to be killed[b] with the sword,
with the sword they will be killed.”[c](F)
This calls for patient endurance and faithfulness(G) on the part of God’s people.(H)
