12 Be glad for this reason, heavens and those who live in them.
How horrible it is for the earth and the sea
because the Devil has come down to them with fierce anger,
knowing that he has little time left.”
13 When the serpent saw that it had been thrown down to earth, it persecuted the woman who had given birth to the boy. 14 The woman was given the two wings of the large eagle in order to fly away from the snake to her place in the wilderness, where she could be taken care of for a time, times, and half a time.

12 Therefore rejoice, you heavens(A)
and you who dwell in them!
But woe(B) to the earth and the sea,(C)
because the devil has gone down to you!
He is filled with fury,
because he knows that his time is short.”
13 When the dragon(D) saw that he had been hurled to the earth, he pursued the woman who had given birth to the male child.(E) 14 The woman was given the two wings of a great eagle,(F) so that she might fly to the place prepared for her in the wilderness, where she would be taken care of for a time, times and half a time,(G) out of the serpent’s reach.
