Psalm 51:4-10

New International Version

⁴ Against you, you only, have I sinned^(A)
    and done what is evil in your sight;^(B)
so you are right in your verdict
    and justified when you judge.^(C)
5 Surely I was sinful^(D) at birth,^(E)
    sinful from the time my mother conceived me.
⁶ Yet you desired faithfulness even in the womb;
    you taught me wisdom^(F) in that secret place.^(G)

⁷ Cleanse^(H) me with hyssop,^(I) and I will be clean;
    wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.^(J)
8 Let me hear joy and gladness;^(K)
    let the bones^(L) you have crushed rejoice.
⁹ Hide your face from my sins^(M)
    and blot out^(N) all my iniquity.

¹⁰ Create in me a pure heart,^(O) O God,
    and renew a steadfast spirit within me.^(P)
