Psalm 13

A Plea for Deliverance

For the choir director. A psalm of David.

1 How long, Lord? Will you forget me forever?
How long will you hide your face from me?(A)
2 How long will I store up anxious concerns[a] within me,
agony in my mind every day?
How long will my enemy dominate me?(B)

3 Consider me and answer, Lord my God.
Restore brightness to my eyes;(C)
otherwise, I will sleep in death.
4 My enemy will say, “I have triumphed over him,”
and my foes will rejoice because I am shaken.(D)

5 But I have trusted in your faithful love;(E)
my heart will rejoice in your deliverance.(F)
6 I will sing to the Lord
because he has treated me generously.(G)

1 How long,(A) Lord? Will you forget me(B) forever?
    How long will you hide your face(C) from me?
2 How long must I wrestle with my thoughts(D)
    and day after day have sorrow in my heart?
    How long will my enemy triumph over me?(E)

3 Look on me(F) and answer,(G) Lord my God.
    Give light to my eyes,(H) or I will sleep in death,(I)
4 and my enemy will say, “I have overcome him,(J)”
    and my foes will rejoice when I fall.(K)

5 But I trust in your unfailing love;(L)
    my heart rejoices in your salvation.(M)
6 I will sing(N) the Lord’s praise,
    for he has been good to me.

¿Hasta cuándo esconderás de mí Tu rostro(B)?
2 ¿Hasta cuándo he de tomar consejo en mi alma(C),
Teniendo pesar en mi corazón todo el día(D)?
¿Hasta cuándo mi enemigo se enaltecerá sobre mí?
3 ¶Considera y respóndeme, oh Señor, Dios mío(E);
Ilumina mis ojos(F), no sea que duerma el sueño de la muerte(G);
4 No sea que mi enemigo diga: «Lo he vencido(H)»;
Y mis adversarios se regocijen cuando yo sea sacudido(I).
5 ¶Pero yo en Tu misericordia he confiado(J);
Mi corazón se regocijará en Tu salvación(K).
6 Cantaré al Señor(L),
Porque me ha llenado de bienes(M).
