¹³⁶My eyes ^(A)shed streams of tears,
because people ^(B)do not keep your law.

¹³⁷^(C)Righteous are you, O Lord,
    and right are your rules.
¹³⁸You have appointed your testimonies in ^(D)righteousness
    and in all ^(E)faithfulness.
¹³⁹My ^(F)zeal consumes me,
    because my foes forget your words.
¹⁴⁰Your promise is well ^(G)tried,
    and your servant ^(H)loves it.
¹⁴¹I am small and despised,
    yet I do not ^(I)forget your precepts.
¹⁴²Your righteousness is righteous forever,
    and your law is ^(J)true.
¹⁴³Trouble and anguish have found me out,
    but your commandments are my ^(K)delight.
¹⁴⁴Your testimonies are righteous forever;
    ^(L)give me understanding that I may ^(M)live.
