⁵ I know that the Lord is great,^(A)
    that our Lord is greater than all gods.^(B)
6 The Lord does whatever pleases him,^(C)
    in the heavens and on the earth,^(D)
    in the seas and all their depths.
⁷ He makes clouds rise from the ends of the earth;
    he sends lightning with the rain^(E)
    and brings out the wind^(F) from his storehouses.^(G)

¹⁰ As the rain^(A) and the snow
    come down from heaven,
and do not return to it
    without watering the earth
and making it bud and flourish,^(B)
    so that it yields seed^(C) for the sower and bread for the eater,^(D)
11 so is my word^(E) that goes out from my mouth:
    It will not return to me empty,^(F)
but will accomplish what I desire
    and achieve the purpose^(G) for which I sent it.
