Proverbs 28
21st Century King James Version
28 The wicked flee when no man pursueth, but the righteous are bold as a lion.
2 For the transgression of a land, many are the princes thereof; but by a man of understanding and knowledge the state thereof shall be prolonged.
3 A poor man that oppresseth the poor is like a sweeping rain which leaveth no food.
4 They that forsake the law praise the wicked, but such as keep the law contend with them.
5 Evil men understand not judgment, but they that seek the Lord understand all things.
6 Better is the poor that walketh in his uprightness than he that is perverse in his ways, though he be rich.
7 Whoso keepeth the law is a wise son, but he that is a companion of riotous men shameth his father.
8 He that by usury and unjust gain increaseth his substance, shall gather it for him that will pity the poor.
9 He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination.
10 Whoso causeth the righteous to go astray in an evil way shall himself fall into his own pit, but the upright shall possess good things.
11 The rich man is wise in his own conceit, but the poor man that hath understanding searcheth him out.
12 When righteous men rejoice, there is great glory; but when the wicked rise, men hide themselves.
13 He that covereth his sins shall not prosper, but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.
14 Happy is the man that feareth God always, but he that hardeneth his heart shall fall into evil.
15 As a roaring lion and a ranging bear, so is a wicked ruler over the poor people.
16 The prince that lacketh understanding is also a great oppressor, but he that hateth covetousness shall prolong his days.
17 A man that doeth violence to the blood of any person shall flee to the pit; let no man stay him.
18 Whoso walketh uprightly shall be saved, but he that is perverse in his ways shall fall at once!
19 He that tilleth his land shall have plenty of bread, but he that followeth after vain persons shall have poverty enough.
20 A faithful man shall abound with blessings, but he that maketh haste to be rich shall not be innocent.
21 To have respect of persons is not good, for that man will transgress for a piece of bread.
22 He that hasteneth to be rich hath an evil eye and considereth not that poverty shall come upon him.
23 He that rebuketh a man shall afterwards find more favor than he that flattereth with his tongue.
24 Whoso robbeth his father or his mother and saith, “It is no transgression,” the same is the companion of a destroyer.
25 He that is of a proud heart stirreth up strife, but he that putteth his trust in the Lord shall prosper.
26 He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool, but whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered.
27 He that giveth unto the poor shall not lack, but he that hideth his eyes shall have many a curse.
28 When the wicked rise, men hide themselves; but when they perish, the righteous increase.

28 Kẻ ác bỏ chạy dù không ai đuổi theo,
còn người công chính vững vàng như sư tử.
2 Khi quốc gia hỗn loạn thì quan quyền liên tiếp thay thế nhau;
nhưng khi có người tài đức, khôn ngoan lãnh đạo
thì khi quốc gia trở nên vững mạnh.
3 Quan quyền ngược đãi kẻ nghèo,
như mưa lũ làm hại mùa màng.
4 Ai không vâng lời dạy dỗ tức tán dương kẻ ác,
còn ai nghe dạy là chống lại chúng.
5 Kẻ ác không hiểu được công lý,
nhưng kẻ theo CHÚA hiểu rõ công lý.
6 Thà nghèo mà thanh liêm,
hơn giàu mà sống lươn lẹo.
7 Con khôn ngoan nghe lời khuyên dạy,
nhưng ai làm bạn với kẻ hoang đàng
khiến cho cha mẹ mình tủi nhục.
8 Ai làm giàu nhờ cho vay cắt cổ
sẽ thấy tài sản mình lọt vào tay kẻ nhân từ đối với người nghèo.
9 Nếu con bịt tai không nghe lời khuyên dạy,
thì lời cầu nguyện của con cũng sẽ là điều CHÚA gớm ghiếc.
10 Ai dẫn người công chính vào đường lầm lạc
sẽ bị tiêu diệt vì mưu ác mình,
nhưng người thanh liêm sẽ hưởng hạnh phúc.
11 Kẻ giàu tự cho mình khôn ngoan,
nhưng người nghèo mà sáng suốt thấy rõ bộ mặt thật của họ.
12 Khi người công chính đắc thắng, ai cũng vui mừng,
nhưng khi kẻ ác lên cầm quyền, ai cũng bỏ trốn.
13 Người nào che giấu tội lỗi sẽ không thành công.
Nhưng ai xưng tội và từ bỏ nó sẽ được thương xót.
14 Phúc cho kẻ luôn luôn biết sợ,
còn ai ương ngạnh sẽ gặp tai ương.
15 Quan quyền độc ác mà cai trị kẻ nghèo là một mối nguy,
giống như sư tử gầm thét hay gấu vồ mồi.
16 Quan quyền mà thiếu sáng suốt sẽ trở nên độc ác,
nhưng ai từ chối những lợi lộc bất chính sẽ cai trị lâu dài.
17 Hãy để cho kẻ sát nhân trốn tránh cho đến khi chết;
Đừng giúp đỡ nó.
18 Người thanh liêm sẽ an toàn,
còn kẻ bất lương sẽ bị tiêu diệt bất thần.
19 Ai trồng trọt ruộng vườn sẽ dư ăn,
nhưng kẻ đuổi theo ảo vọng sẽ trở nên nghèo khó.
20 Ai trung tín sẽ nhận được nhiều phúc,
nhưng kẻ vội làm giàu sẽ bị trừng phạt.
21 Thiên vị là điều không tốt,
nhưng có kẻ chỉ vì miếng ăn mà phạm tội.
22 Kẻ ích kỷ mong làm giàu nhanh chóng
mà không biết rằng cái nghèo đi liền theo sau.
23 Ai sửa dạy người khác về sau sẽ được biết ơn,
hơn kẻ buông lời nịnh hót.
24 Ai ăn cắp của cha mẹ mà nói,
“Chẳng có gì quấy cả,” là đồng lõa với kẻ phá hoại.
25 Kẻ tham lam gây chuyện lôi thôi,
nhưng ai tin cậy CHÚA sẽ thành công.
26 Ai tự ỷ lại là dại dột,
nhưng ai sống khôn ngoan sẽ được an toàn.
27 Ai giúp đỡ kẻ nghèo sẽ không bao giờ thiếu thốn,
nhưng ai không đếm xỉa đến kẻ nghèo sẽ bị nguyền rủa.
28 Khi kẻ ác chiếm quyền, mọi người đều lẩn trốn,
nhưng khi chúng bị diệt, người công chính sẽ gia tăng.
