Magandang Balita Biblia
22 Mas mabuting piliin ang malinis na pangalan,
kaysa pilak at ginto o anumang kayamanan.
2 Kay Yahweh ay pareho ang mayama't mahirap,
pagkat siya ang may lalang sa kanilang lahat.
3 Kung may dumarating na panganib, ang matalino'y nag-iingat,
ngunit di ito pansin ng mangmang kaya siya'y napapahamak.
4 Ang paggalang at pagsunod kay Yahweh at ang kapakumbabaan
ay nagbubunga ng yaman, buhay at karangalan.
5 Sa landas ng masama ay may tinik at mga patibong,
at ang nagmamahal sa sarili ay umiiwas doon.
6 Ituro(A) sa bata ang daang dapat niyang lakaran,
at hanggang sa paglaki'y di niya ito malilimutan.
7 Ang mahirap ay nasa kapangyarihan ng mayaman,
ang nangangailangan ay alipin ng nagpapahiram.
8 Ang naghahasik ng kasamaan ay mag-aani ng kamalasan,
at hindi magtatagal ang kanyang kasamaan.
9 Ang mahirap ay bahaginan mo ng pagkain,
at tiyak na ikaw ay pagpapalain.
10 Palayasin mo ang mga sulsol at mawawala ang alitan,
at matitigil ang kaguluhan pati pag-aaway.
11 Ang magiliw mangusap at may pusong dalisay,
pati ang hari'y magiging kaibigan.
12 Binabantayan ni Yahweh ang mga nag-iingat ng kaalaman,
ngunit di niya pinagtatagumpay ang salita ng mga mangmang.
13 Ang tamad ay ayaw lumabas ng bahay,
ang idinadahila'y may leon sa daan.
14 Ang salita ng mapang-apid ay isang patibong
at ang mga hindi nagtitiwala kay Yahweh ang nahuhulog doon.
15 Likas sa mga bata ang pagiging pilyo,
ngunit sa pamamagitan ng palo, sila'y matututo.
16 Ang nagreregalo sa mayaman o umaapi sa mahirap para magpayaman
ay mauuwi rin sa karalitaan.
Tatlumpung mga Kawikaan
17 Pakinggan mo at pag-aralang mabuti ang aking mga ituturo. 18 Ito'y magdudulot sa iyo ng kaligayahan kung isasaulo mo. 19 Sinasabi ko ito sa iyo sapagkat nais kong si Yahweh ang iyong panaligan. 20 Tatlumpu ang kawikaang ito. Bawat isa ay magandang panuntunan at magdudulot ng kaalaman. 21 Ituturo nito sa iyo kung ano ang katotohanan. Sa gayon, may maisasagot ka kung may magtanong sa iyo.

22 Huwag mong samantalahin ang kahinaan ng mahihirap, ni pagmalabisan ang dukha sa harap ng hukuman. 23 Sapagkat ipagtatanggol sila ni Yahweh, at aagawan niya ang nang-agaw sa mga iyon.

24 Huwag kang makipagkaibigan sa taong bugnutin, ni makisama sa taong magagalitin, 25 baka mahawa sa kanila at sa bitag ay masilo.

26 Huwag kang mangangako para sa utang ng iba, ni gumarantiya para sa kanya. 27 Kapag hindi ka nakabayad, hindi ba't kukunin pati ang higaan mo?

28 Huwag mong babaguhin ang mga hangganang itinayo, ito'y inilagay doon ng ating mga ninuno.

29 Alam ba ninyo kung sino ang pinaglilingkuran ng mga mahusay magtrabaho? Sila'y naglilingkod sa mga hari, hindi sa mga alipin.
Proverbs 22
English Standard Version
22 (A)A good name is to be chosen rather than great riches,
and favor is better than silver or gold.
2 (B)The rich and the poor meet together;
the Lord is (C)the Maker of them all.
3 (D)The prudent sees danger and hides himself,
but the simple go on and suffer for it.
4 The reward for humility and fear of the Lord
is (E)riches and honor and life.[a]
5 (F)Thorns and snares are in the way of the crooked;
whoever (G)guards his soul will keep far from them.
6 (H)Train up a child in the way he should go;
even when he is old he will not depart from it.
7 (I)The rich rules over the poor,
and the borrower is the slave of the lender.
8 Whoever (J)sows injustice will reap calamity,
and (K)the rod of his fury will fail.
9 (L)Whoever has a bountiful[b] eye will be blessed,
for he (M)shares his bread with the poor.
10 (N)Drive out a scoffer, (O)and strife will go out,
and (P)quarreling and abuse will cease.
11 He who (Q)loves purity of heart,
and whose (R)speech is gracious, (S)will have the king as his friend.
12 The eyes of the Lord keep watch over knowledge,
but he (T)overthrows the words of the traitor.
13 (U)The sluggard says, “There is a lion outside!
I shall be killed in the streets!”
14 The mouth of (V)forbidden[c] women is (W)a deep pit;
(X)he with whom the Lord is angry will fall into it.
15 Folly is bound up in the heart of a child,
but (Y)the rod of discipline drives it far from him.
16 Whoever oppresses the poor to increase his own wealth,
or gives to the rich, (Z)will only come to poverty.
Words of the Wise
17 (AA)Incline your ear, and hear (AB)the words of the wise,
(AC)and apply your heart to my knowledge,
18 for it will be pleasant if you keep them within you,
if all of them are ready on your lips.
19 That your trust may be in the Lord,
I have made them known to you today, even to you.
20 Have I not written for you (AD)thirty sayings
of counsel and knowledge,
21 to (AE)make you know what is right and true,
that you may give a true answer to those who sent you?
22 (AF)Do not rob the poor, because he is poor,
or (AG)crush the afflicted at (AH)the gate,
23 for (AI)the Lord will plead their cause
and rob of life those who rob them.
24 Make no friendship with a man given to anger,
nor go with a wrathful man,
25 lest you learn his ways
and entangle yourself in a snare.
26 Be not one of those who (AJ)give pledges,
who put up security for debts.
27 If you have nothing with which to pay,
why should (AK)your bed be taken from under you?
28 Do not move the ancient (AL)landmark
that your fathers have set.
29 Do you see a man skillful in his work?
He will (AM)stand before kings;
he will not stand before obscure men.
