Proverbs 15:18-20

¹⁸An angry man stirs up strife. But the slow to anger appeases strife.

¹⁹The way of the slothful is as a hedge of thorns. But the way of the righteous is plain.

²⁰A wise son rejoices the father. But a foolish man despises his mother.

¹⁸A hot-tempered person stirs up conflict,^(A)
but the one who is patient calms a quarrel.^(B)

¹⁹The way of the sluggard is blocked with thorns,^(C)
but the path of the upright is a highway.
