24 Porque he llamado(A) y habéis rehusado oír(B),
he extendido mi mano(C) y nadie ha hecho caso;
25 habéis desatendido todo consejo mío(D),
y no habéis deseado mi reprensión(E);
26 también yo me reiré(F) de vuestra calamidad(G),
me burlaré cuando sobrevenga lo que teméis(H),
27 cuando venga como tormenta lo que teméis,
y vuestra calamidad sobrevenga como torbellino(I),
cuando vengan sobre vosotros tribulación y angustia.
28 Entonces me invocarán, pero no responderé(J);
me buscarán con diligencia, pero no me hallarán(K);
29 porque odiaron el conocimiento(L),
y no escogieron el temor[a] del Señor,
30 ni quisieron aceptar mi consejo,
y despreciaron toda mi reprensión(M);
31 comerán del fruto de su conducta(N),
y de sus propias artimañas se hartarán(O).
32 Porque el desvío de los simples los matará,
y la complacencia de los necios los destruirá(P).

24 But since you refuse(A) to listen when I call(B)
and no one pays attention(C) when I stretch out my hand,
25 since you disregard all my advice
and do not accept my rebuke,
26 I in turn will laugh(D) when disaster(E) strikes you;
I will mock(F) when calamity overtakes you(G)—
27 when calamity overtakes you like a storm,
when disaster(H) sweeps over you like a whirlwind,
when distress and trouble overwhelm you.
28 “Then they will call to me but I will not answer;(I)
they will look for me but will not find me,(J)
29 since they hated knowledge
and did not choose to fear the Lord.(K)
30 Since they would not accept my advice
and spurned my rebuke,(L)
31 they will eat the fruit of their ways
and be filled with the fruit of their schemes.(M)
32 For the waywardness of the simple will kill them,
and the complacency of fools will destroy them;(N)
