Proverbe 16
Nouă Traducere În Limba Română

16 Planurile inimii aparţin omului,
    dar răspunsul pe care-l dă limba vine de la Domnul.

2 Toate căile unui om sunt curate în ochii lui,
    dar Cel Care cercetează duhurile este Domnul.

3 Încredinţează-ţi Domnului lucrările
    şi îţi vor reuşi planurile.

4 Domnul a făcut totul pentru un scop,
    chiar şi pe cel rău l-a făcut pentru ziua distrugerii.

5 Toţi cei mândri sunt o urâciune înaintea Domnului;
    în mod sigur ei nu vor rămâne nepedepsiţi.

6 Prin bunătate şi credincioşie este ispăşit păcatul
    şi prin frica de Domnul se îndepărtează omul de la rău.

7 Când Domnului Îi sunt plăcute căile unui om,
    îi face chiar şi pe duşmanii lui să trăiască în pace cu el.

8 Mai bine puţin, dar cu dreptate,
    decât mari venituri cu nedreptate!

9 În mintea lui omul îşi întocmeşte calea,
    dar Domnul îi îndrumă paşii.

10 Sentinţa divină[a] este pe buzele regelui
    şi gura lui nu trebuie să facă greşeli când judecă.

11 Cântarul şi cumpăna dreaptă sunt de la Domnul;
    toate greutăţile de cântărit sunt lucrarea Lui.

12 Este o urâciune pentru regi să facă rău,
    pentru că prin dreptate se întăreşte tronul.

13 Buzele cinstite sunt plăcute regilor
    şi cel ce spune adevărul este iubit.

14 Mânia regelui este mesagerul morţii,
    dar omul înţelept o va potoli.

15 Seninătatea feţei regelui înseamnă viaţă
    şi bunăvoinţa lui este ca un nor de ploaie târzie[b].

16 Mai bună este dobândirea înţelepciunii decât a aurului
    şi obţinerea priceperii decât a argintului.

17 Calea omului drept evită răul;[c]
    cine îşi păzeşte calea îşi păzeşte viaţa.

18 Mândria merge înaintea distrugerii
    şi un duh arogant merge înaintea căderii.

19 Mai bine să fii smerit în duh printre cei umili,
    decât să împarţi prada cu cei mândri.

20 Cine ţine seama de Cuvânt găseşte ce este bine
    şi binecuvântat este cel ce se încrede în Domnul!

21 Cine are o inimă înţeleaptă este numit priceput
    şi dulceaţa buzelor sporeşte receptivitatea.[d]

22 Chibzuinţa este un izvor de viaţă pentru cei ce o au,
    dar prostia este pedeapsa celor proşti.

23 Inima celui înţelept îi îndrumă gura cu înţelepciune
    şi adaugă învăţătură pe buzele lui.[e]

24 Cuvintele plăcute sunt ca un fagure de miere,
    dulci pentru suflet şi sănătoase pentru oase.

25 Există o cale ce pare dreaptă omului,
    dar la urmă duce spre moarte.

26 Pofta de mâncare a muncitorului este în folosul său,
    căci foamea lui îl îndeamnă la lucru.

27 Cel ticălos pune la cale răul
    şi vorbirea lui este ca un foc dogoritor.

28 Omul stricat răspândeşte discordii
    şi un bârfitor dezbină pe cei mai buni prieteni.

29 Omul violent îşi amăgeşte semenul
    şi-l conduce pe o cale greşită.

30 Cine închide ochii pune la cale lucruri stricate
    şi cel ce-şi muşcă buzele a şi săvârşit răul.

31 Perii albi sunt o cunună de glorie,
    ei sunt dobândiţi printr-o viaţă dreaptă.

32 Cel încet la mânie este mai valoros decât cel puternic
    şi cel stăpân pe sine – decât cel care cucereşte o cetate.

33 Se aruncă sorţul în poală,
    dar orice decizie este de la Domnul.

16 The plans of the heart belong to man,
    but (A)the answer of the tongue is from the Lord.
2 (B)All the ways of a man are pure in his own eyes,
    but the Lord (C)weighs the spirit.[a]
3 (D)Commit your work to the Lord,
    and your plans will be established.
4 (E)The Lord has made everything for its purpose,
    even (F)the wicked for the day of trouble.
5 Everyone who is arrogant in heart is (G)an abomination to the Lord;
    (H)be assured, he will not go unpunished.
6 By (I)steadfast love and faithfulness iniquity is atoned for,
    and by (J)the fear of the Lord one (K)turns away from evil.
7 When a man's ways please the Lord,
    (L)he makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.
8 (M)Better is a little with righteousness
    than great revenues with injustice.
9 (N)The heart of man plans his way,
    but (O)the Lord establishes his steps.
10 (P)An oracle is on the lips of a king;
    his mouth does not sin in judgment.
11 (Q)A just balance and scales are the Lord's;
    all the weights in the bag are his work.
12 It is an abomination to kings to do evil,
    for (R)the throne is established by righteousness.
13 (S)Righteous lips are the delight of a king,
    and he loves him who speaks what is right.
14 (T)A king's wrath is a messenger of death,
    and a wise man will (U)appease it.
15 (V)In the light of a king's face there is life,
    and his (W)favor is like (X)the clouds that bring the spring rain.
16 (Y)How much better to get wisdom than (Z)gold!
    To get understanding is to be chosen rather than (AA)silver.
17 The highway of the upright (AB)turns aside from evil;
    whoever guards his way preserves his life.
18 (AC)Pride goes before destruction,
    and a haughty spirit before a fall.
19 (AD)It is better to be of a lowly spirit with the poor
    than to (AE)divide the spoil with the proud.
20 Whoever gives thought to the word[b] (AF)will discover good,
    and blessed is he (AG)who trusts in the Lord.
21 The wise of heart is called discerning,
    and sweetness of speech (AH)increases persuasiveness.
22 Good sense is (AI)a fountain of life to him who has it,
    but the instruction of fools is folly.
23 (AJ)The heart of the wise makes his speech judicious
    and adds persuasiveness to his lips.
24 (AK)Gracious words are like (AL)a honeycomb,
    sweetness to the soul and (AM)health to the body.
25 There is a way that seems right to a man,
    but its end is the way to death.[c]
26 A worker's appetite works for him;
    his (AN)mouth urges him on.
27 (AO)A worthless man plots evil,
    and his speech[d] is like (AP)a scorching fire.
28 (AQ)A dishonest man spreads strife,
    and (AR)a whisperer (AS)separates close friends.
29 A man of violence (AT)entices his neighbor
    and leads him in a way that is not good.
30 Whoever winks his eyes plans[e] (AU)dishonest things;
    he who (AV)purses his lips brings evil to pass.
31 (AW)Gray hair is (AX)a crown of glory;
    it (AY)is gained in a righteous life.
32 (AZ)Whoever is slow to anger is better than the mighty,
    and he who rules his spirit than he who takes a city.
33 (BA)The lot is cast into the lap,
    but its every decision is (BB)from the Lord.

New International Version

16 To humans belong the plans of the heart,
    but from the Lord comes the proper answer of the tongue.(A)

2 All a person’s ways seem pure to them,(B)
    but motives are weighed(C) by the Lord.(D)

3 Commit to the Lord whatever you do,
    and he will establish your plans.(E)

4 The Lord works out everything to its proper end(F)—
    even the wicked for a day of disaster.(G)

5 The Lord detests all the proud of heart.(H)
    Be sure of this: They will not go unpunished.(I)

6 Through love and faithfulness sin is atoned for;
    through the fear of the Lord(J) evil is avoided.(K)

7 When the Lord takes pleasure in anyone’s way,
    he causes their enemies to make peace(L) with them.(M)

8 Better a little with righteousness
    than much gain(N) with injustice.(O)

9 In their hearts humans plan their course,
    but the Lord establishes their steps.(P)

10 The lips of a king speak as an oracle,
    and his mouth does not betray justice.(Q)

11 Honest scales and balances belong to the Lord;
    all the weights in the bag are of his making.(R)

12 Kings detest wrongdoing,
    for a throne is established through righteousness.(S)

13 Kings take pleasure in honest lips;
    they value the one who speaks what is right.(T)

14 A king’s wrath is a messenger of death,(U)
    but the wise will appease it.(V)

15 When a king’s face brightens, it means life;(W)
    his favor is like a rain cloud in spring.(X)

16 How much better to get wisdom than gold,
    to get insight(Y) rather than silver!(Z)

17 The highway of the upright avoids evil;

19 Better to be lowly in spirit along with the oppressed

28 A perverse person stirs up conflict,(AQ)

29 A violent person entices their neighbor
    and leads them down a path that is not good.(AS)

30 Whoever winks(AT) with their eye is plotting perversity;
    whoever purses their lips is bent on evil.

31 Gray hair is a crown of splendor;(AU)
    it is attained in the way of righteousness.

32 Better a patient person than a warrior,
    one with self-control than one who takes a city.
