The Passover
9 Now the Lord spoke to Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, in (A)the first month of the second year after they had come out of the land of Egypt, saying, 2 “Now the sons of Israel are to [a]celebrate the Passover at (B)its appointed time. 3 On the fourteenth day of this month, [b]at twilight, you shall celebrate it at its appointed time; you shall celebrate it in accordance with all its statutes and all its ordinances.” 4 So Moses [c]told the sons of Israel to celebrate the Passover. 5 And (C)they celebrated the Passover in the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month, at twilight, in the wilderness of Sinai; (D)in accordance with everything that the Lord had commanded Moses, so the sons of Israel did. 6 But there were some men who were (E)unclean because of contact with a [d]dead person, so that they could not celebrate Passover on that day; and (F)they came before Moses and Aaron on that day. 7 Those men said to him, “Though we are unclean because of a [e]dead person, why are we kept from presenting the offering of the Lord at its appointed time among the sons of Israel?” 8 Moses then said to them, “[f](G)Wait, and I will listen to what the Lord will command concerning you.”
9 Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, 10 “Speak to the sons of Israel, saying, ‘If any one of you or of your generations becomes unclean because of a dead [g]person, or is on a distant journey, he may, however, celebrate the Passover to the Lord. 11 In the second month on the (H)fourteenth day at twilight, they shall celebrate it; they (I)shall eat it with unleavened bread and bitter herbs. 12 They (J)shall not leave any of it until morning, (K)nor break a bone of it; they shall celebrate it in accordance with the whole statute of the Passover. 13 (L)But the person who is clean and is not on a journey, yet refrains from celebrating the Passover, that [h]person shall then be cut off from his people, because he did not present the offering of the Lord at its appointed time. That person (M)will bear the responsibility for his sin. 14 And (N)if a stranger resides among you and [i]celebrates the Passover to the Lord, according to the statute of the Passover and its ordinance, so he shall celebrate it; you shall have [j]the (O)same statute, both for the stranger and for the native of the land.’”
The Cloud on the Tabernacle
15 Now on (P)the day that the tabernacle was erected, (Q)the cloud covered the tabernacle, the (R)tent of the testimony, and (S)in the evening it was like the appearance of fire over the tabernacle until morning. 16 That is how it was continuously; (T)the cloud would cover it by day, and the appearance of fire by night. 17 (U)Whenever the cloud was lifted from over the tent, afterward the sons of Israel would set out; and in the place where the cloud settled down, there the sons of Israel would camp. 18 At the [k]command of the Lord the sons of Israel would set out, and at the [l]command of the Lord they would camp; (V)as long as the cloud settled over the tabernacle, they remained camped. 19 Even when the cloud lingered over the tabernacle for many days, [m]the sons of Israel would comply with the Lord’s ordinance and not set out. 20 If [n]sometimes the cloud remained a few days over the tabernacle, (W)in accordance with the [o]command of the Lord they remained camped. Then in accordance with the [p]command of the Lord they set out. 21 If [q]sometimes the cloud [r]remained from evening until morning, when the cloud was lifted in the morning they would set out; or if it remained in the daytime and at night, whenever the cloud was lifted, they would set out. 22 Whether it was two days, a month, or a year that the cloud lingered over the tabernacle, staying above it, the sons of Israel remained camped and did not set out; but (X)when it was lifted, they did set out. 23 (Y)At the [s]command of the Lord they camped, and at the [t]command of the Lord they set out; they did what the Lord required, in accordance with the [u]command of the Lord through Moses.

La celebración de la Pascua
9 El SEÑOR habló a Moisés en el desierto de Sinaí, en el mes primerob del segundo año de su salida de la tierra de Egipto, diciendo: 2 “Los hijos de Israel celebrarán la Pascua a su debido tiempo. 3 El día catorce de este mes, al atardecer, la celebrarán a su debido tiempo. La celebrarán conforme a todos sus estatutos y conforme a todos sus decretos”.
4 Moisés habló a los hijos de Israel para que celebraran la Pascua. 5 Y celebraron la Pascua en el desierto de Sinaí, el día catorce del mes primero[a], al atardecer. Los hijos de Israel hicieron conforme a todo lo que el SEÑOR había mandado a Moisés.
La Pascua del segundo mes
6 Sucedió que algunos hombres estaban impuros a causa de contacto con un cadáver, de modo que no pudieron celebrar la Pascua aquel día. Se acercaron aquel día a la presencia de Moisés y de Aarón, 7 y esos hombres les dijeron:
—Nosotros estamos impuros a causa de contacto con un cadáver. ¿Por qué seremos impedidos nosotros, entre los hijos de Israel, de ofrecer el sacrificio al SEÑOR a su debido tiempo?
8 Moisés les respondió:
—Esperen hasta que yo oiga qué es lo que manda el SEÑOR acerca de ustedes.
9 Entonces el SEÑOR habló a Moisés diciendo:
10 —Habla a los hijos de Israel y diles: “Cualquiera de ustedes o de sus descendientes que esté impuro a causa de contacto con un cadáver o que esté lejos, de viaje, podrá celebrar la Pascua al SEÑOR. 11 La celebrarán el día catorce del mes segundo[b], al atardecer, y la comerán con panes sin levadura y con hierbas amargas. 12 No dejarán nada de ella para el siguiente día ni quebrarán ninguno de sus huesos. La celebrarán conforme a todo el estatuto de la Pascua.
13 “Pero el que está puro y no está de viaje, y deja de celebrar la Pascua, tal persona será excluida de su pueblo, porque no ofreció el sacrificio al SEÑOR a su debido tiempo. Tal persona cargará con su pecado.
14 “Si con ustedes reside algún extranjero y celebra la Pascua al SEÑOR, la celebrará conforme al estatuto y al decreto de la Pascua. El mismo estatuto tendrán, tanto para el extranjero como para el natural de la tierra”.
La nube y el fuego sobre el tabernáculo
15 El día en que fue erigido el tabernáculo la nube cubrió el tabernáculo, la tienda del testimonio. Y desde el anochecer hasta el amanecer había algo semejante a fuego sobre el tabernáculo. 16 Así sucedía continuamente: La nube lo cubría de día[c], y la apariencia de fuego de noche. 17 Cuando la nube se levantaba de encima del tabernáculo, los hijos de Israel se ponían en marcha. Y en el lugar donde la nube se detenía, allí acampaban los hijos de Israel. 18 Al mandato del SEÑOR los hijos de Israel partían, y al mandato del SEÑOR acampaban. Ellos quedaban acampados todos los días que la nube permanecía sobre el tabernáculo. 19 Cuando la nube se detenía muchos días sobre el tabernáculo, los hijos de Israel guardaban la ordenanza del SEÑOR y no se ponían en marcha. 20 Y cuando la nube estaba sobre el tabernáculo pocos días, al mandato del SEÑOR quedaban acampados, y al mandato del SEÑOR partían.
21 Cuando la nube se detenía desde el anochecer hasta el amanecer, y la nube se levantaba por la mañana, ellos se ponían en marcha. Cuando la nube se levantaba, ya fuera de día o ya fuera de noche, ellos se ponían en marcha. 22 Si la nube permanecía dos días, un mes o un año, mientras la nube se detenía sobre el tabernáculo, los hijos de Israel quedaban acampados y no partían. Pero cuando se levantaba, ellos partían. 23 Al mandato del SEÑOR acampaban, y al mandato del SEÑOR partían, guardando la ordenanza del SEÑOR, de acuerdo con el mandato del SEÑOR dado por medio de Moisés.
