and four utility carts and eight cattle he gave to the descendants[a] of Merari according to their required service,[b] under the authority of[c] Ithamar son of Aaron the priest. But to the descendants[d] of Kohath he did not give anything because the work of the sanctuary they carried upon them on their shoulders.[e]

10 The leaders presented offerings for the dedication of the altar on the day of its anointing, and the leaders presented their offerings before[f] the altar.

10 When the altar was anointed,(D) the leaders brought their offerings for its dedication(E) and presented them before the altar.

And four wagons and eight oxen he gave unto the sons of Merari, according unto their service, under the hand of Ithamar the son of Aaron the priest.

But unto the sons of Kohath he gave none: because the service of the sanctuary belonging unto them was that they should bear upon their shoulders.

10 And the princes offered for dedicating of the altar in the day that it was anointed, even the princes offered their offering before the altar.
