8 and four utility carts and eight cattle he gave to the descendants[a] of Merari according to their required service,[b] under the authority of[c] Ithamar son of Aaron the priest. 9 But to the descendants[d] of Kohath he did not give anything because the work of the sanctuary they carried upon them on their shoulders.[e]
10 The leaders presented offerings for the dedication of the altar on the day of its anointing, and the leaders presented their offerings before[f] the altar.

8 and he gave four carts and eight oxen to the Merarites,(A) as their work required. They were all under the direction of Ithamar son of Aaron, the priest. 9 But Moses did not give any to the Kohathites,(B) because they were to carry on their shoulders(C) the holy things, for which they were responsible.
10 When the altar was anointed,(D) the leaders brought their offerings for its dedication(E) and presented them before the altar.

8 And four wagons and eight oxen he gave unto the sons of Merari, according unto their service, under the hand of Ithamar the son of Aaron the priest.
9 But unto the sons of Kohath he gave none: because the service of the sanctuary belonging unto them was that they should bear upon their shoulders.
10 And the princes offered for dedicating of the altar in the day that it was anointed, even the princes offered their offering before the altar.
