⁷ And ^(A)you and your sons with you shall guard your priesthood for all that concerns the altar and ^(B)that is within the veil; and you shall serve. I give your priesthood as a gift,^[a] and ^(C)any outsider who comes near shall be put to death.”

¹⁰ And you shall appoint Aaron and his sons, and ^(A)they shall guard their priesthood. But if ^(B)any outsider comes near, he shall be put to death.”

³ Behind ^(A)the second curtain was a second section^[a] called the Most Holy Place, ⁴ having the golden ^(B)altar of incense and ^(C)the ark of the covenant covered on all sides with gold, in which was ^(D)a golden urn holding the manna, and ^(E)Aaron's staff that budded, and ^(F)the tablets of the covenant. ⁵ Above it were ^(G)the cherubim of glory overshadowing ^(H)the mercy seat. Of these things we cannot now speak in detail.

⁶ These preparations having thus been made, ^(I)the priests go regularly into the first section, performing their ritual duties,

⁴ And ^(A)no one takes this honor for himself, but only when called by God, ^(B)just as Aaron was.

⁸ To me, ^(A)though I am the very least of all the saints, this grace was given, ^(B)to preach to the Gentiles the ^(C)unsearchable ^(D)riches of Christ,

¹⁵ But on some points I have written to you very boldly by way of reminder, ^(A)because of the grace given me by God ¹⁶ to be ^(B)a minister of Christ Jesus to the Gentiles ^(C)in the priestly service of the gospel of God, so that ^(D)the offering of the Gentiles may be acceptable, sanctified by the Holy Spirit.

²⁷ John answered, ^(A)“A person cannot receive even one thing ^(B)unless it is given him ^(C)from heaven.

^28 (A)Did I choose him out of all the tribes of Israel to be my priest, to go up to my altar, to burn incense, ^(B)to wear an ephod before me? ^(C)I gave to the house of your father all my offerings by fire from the people of Israel.

²⁰ And the Lord said to Aaron, “You shall have no inheritance in their land, neither shall you have any portion among them. ^(A)I am your portion and your inheritance among the people of Israel.
