The next day Moses entered the Tent. He saw that Aaron’s stick had grown leaves. (It stood for the family of Levi.) It had even budded, blossomed and produced almonds. So Moses brought out to the Israelites all the walking sticks from the Lord’s presence. They all looked, and each man took back his stick.

10 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Put Aaron’s walking stick back. Put it in front of the Ark of the Covenant. It will be a sign to these people who are always turning against me. This will stop their complaining against me. Now they won’t die.”

The next day Moses entered the tent(A) and saw that Aaron’s staff,(B) which represented the tribe of Levi, had not only sprouted but had budded, blossomed and produced almonds.(C) Then Moses brought out all the staffs(D) from the Lord’s presence to all the Israelites. They looked at them, and each of the leaders took his own staff.

10 The Lord said to Moses, “Put back Aaron’s staff(E) in front of the ark of the covenant law, to be kept as a sign to the rebellious.(F) This will put an end to their grumbling against me, so that they will not die.”
