The next day Moses entered the tent of the testimony and saw that Aaron’s staff, representing the house of Levi, had sprouted, formed buds, blossomed, and produced almonds! Moses then brought out all the staffs from the Lord’s presence to all the Israelites. They saw them, and each man took his own staff. 10 The Lord told Moses, “Put Aaron’s staff back in front of the testimony to be kept as a sign(A) for the rebels, so that you may put an end to their complaints before Me, or else they will die.”

The next day Moses entered the tent(A) and saw that Aaron’s staff,(B) which represented the tribe of Levi, had not only sprouted but had budded, blossomed and produced almonds.(C) Then Moses brought out all the staffs(D) from the Lord’s presence to all the Israelites. They looked at them, and each of the leaders took his own staff.

10 The Lord said to Moses, “Put back Aaron’s staff(E) in front of the ark of the covenant law, to be kept as a sign to the rebellious.(F) This will put an end to their grumbling against me, so that they will not die.”
