Who say, “Let her be defiled,
And let our eye (B)look upon Zion.”

In the day of their destruction;

In the day of distress.

10 Then she who is my enemy will see,
And (A)shame will cover her who said to me,
(B)“Where is the Lord your God?”
My eyes will see her;
Now she will be trampled down
Like mud in the streets.

25 (A)Therefore the anger of the Lord is aroused against His people;
He has stretched out His hand against them
And stricken them,
And (B)the hills trembled.
Their carcasses were as refuse in the midst of the streets.

(C)For all this His anger is not turned away,
But His hand is stretched out still.

26 (D)He will lift up a banner to the nations from afar,
And will (E)whistle to them from (F)the end of the earth;
Surely (G)they shall come with speed, swiftly.
27 No one will be weary or stumble among them,
No one will slumber or sleep;
Nor (H)will the belt on their loins be loosed,
Nor the strap of their sandals be broken;
28 (I)Whose arrows are sharp,
And all their bows bent;
Their horses’ hooves will [a]seem like flint,
And their wheels like a whirlwind.
29 Their roaring will be like a lion,
They will roar like young lions;
Yes, they will roar
And lay hold of the prey;
They will carry it away safely,
And no one will deliver.
30 In that day they will roar against them
Like the roaring of the sea.
And if one (J)looks to the land,
Behold, darkness and [b]sorrow;
And the light is darkened by the clouds.

(A)I will also gather all nations,
And bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat;
And I (B)will enter into judgment with them there
On account of My people, My heritage Israel,
Whom they have scattered among the nations;
They have also divided up My land.
They have (C)cast lots for My people,
Have given a boy as payment for a harlot,
And sold a girl for wine, that they may drink.

“Indeed, what have you to do with Me,
(D)O Tyre and Sidon, and all the coasts of Philistia?
Will you [a]retaliate against Me?
But if you [b]retaliate against Me,
Swiftly and speedily I will return your [c]retaliation upon your own head;
Because you have taken My silver and My gold,
And have carried into your temples My [d]prized possessions.
Also the people of Judah and the people of Jerusalem
You have sold to the Greeks,
That you may remove them far from their borders.

“Behold, (E)I will raise them
Out of the place to which you have sold them,
And will return your [e]retaliation upon your own head.
I will sell your sons and your daughters
Into the hand of the people of Judah,
And they will sell them to the (F)Sabeans,[f]
To a people (G)far off;
For the Lord has spoken.”

(H)Proclaim this among the nations:
“Prepare for war!
Wake up the mighty men,
Let all the men of war draw near,
Let them come up.
10 (I)Beat your plowshares into swords
And your [g]pruning hooks into spears;
(J)Let the weak say, ‘I am strong.’ ”
11 Assemble and come, all you nations,
And gather together all around.
Cause (K)Your mighty ones to go down there, O Lord.

12 “Let the nations be wakened, and come up to the Valley of Jehoshaphat;
For there I will sit to (L)judge all the surrounding nations.
13 (M)Put in the sickle, for (N)the harvest is ripe.
Come, go down;
For the (O)winepress is full,
The vats overflow—
For their wickedness is great.”

14 Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision!
For (P)the day of the Lord is near in the valley of decision.
15 The sun and moon will grow dark,
And the stars will diminish their brightness.

Is this the city that is called
(C)‘The perfection of beauty,
The joy of the whole earth’?”
