Panalangin Upang Tulungan ng Diyos

Isang(A) Maskil[a] ni David, nang siya'y nasa kuweba. Ito'y isa ring panalangin.

142 O Yahweh, ako ay humingi ng tulong,
    ako'y maghihintay sa iyong pagtugon;
ang aking dinala'y lahat kong hinaing,
    at ang sinabi ko'y pawang suliranin.
Nang ako ay halos wala nang pag-asa,
    ang dapat kong gawi'y nalalaman niya.
Sa landas na aking pinagdaraanan,
    may handang patibong ang aking kaaway.
Sa aking paligid, nang ako'y lumingon,
    wala ni isa man akong makatulong;
    wala kahit isa na magsasanggalang,
ni magmalasakit na kahit sinuman.

Ako ay humibik, kay Yahweh dumaing,
    sa Tagapagligtas, ako'y dumalangin;
    tunay na ikaw lang mahalaga sa akin.
Dinggin ang hibik ko, ako ay tulungan,
    pagkat halos ako'y di makagulapay;

  1. Mga Awit 142:1 MASKIL: Tingnan ang Awit 32.

This is a special song that David wrote.

He prayed this when he was in the cave.[a]

Please help me, Lord!

142 I am calling to the Lord to help me.
    I ask him to be kind to me.
I tell him about all my problems.
    I tell him about all my troubles.
When I do not feel brave,
    you are still my guide, Lord.
In the path where I walk,
    my enemies have prepared a trap to catch me.
Look at me!
    I have no friend to help me.
There is no safe place where I can go.
    Nobody thinks about me.
Yes Lord, I am calling to you to help me.
    You are my safe place where I can hide.
    You are all that I need in this world where I live.
Please listen to me as I cry to you.
    I am very upset!
My enemies are trying to catch me.
    Save me from their power!
    They are stronger than I am.
Please take me out of this prison.[b]
    Then I will praise your name.
Your own good people will see how you have helped me.
    They will meet round me to praise you.

Footnotes

  1. 142:0 David wrote this song in a cave. It is a prayer that David prayed when his enemies were trying to catch him. He does not say who these enemies were. There are two stories about David hiding in a cave. See 1 Samuel 22 and 1 Samuel 24.
  2. 142:7 The cave where David was hiding seemed like a prison to him. He could not leave safely unless God helped him.

142 I cried unto the Lord with my voice; with my voice unto the Lord did I make my supplication.

I poured out my complaint before him; I shewed before him my trouble.

When my spirit was overwhelmed within me, then thou knewest my path. In the way wherein I walked have they privily laid a snare for me.

I looked on my right hand, and beheld, but there was no man that would know me: refuge failed me; no man cared for my soul.

I cried unto thee, O Lord: I said, Thou art my refuge and my portion in the land of the living.

Attend unto my cry; for I am brought very low: deliver me from my persecutors; for they are stronger than I.

Bring my soul out of prison, that I may praise thy name: the righteous shall compass me about; for thou shalt deal bountifully with me.

Salmo 142 (141)

tú sabes por dónde camino;
en la senda que recorro,
una trampa me han tendido.
Mira a la derecha, observa:
no hay nadie que me conozca;
me he quedado sin refugio,
no hay quien cuide de mí.
Señor, a ti te invoco y digo:
“Mi refugio eres tú,
mi porción en la tierra de los vivos”.
Atiende mi clamor,
que estoy muy abatido;
líbrame de quienes me persiguen,
que son más fuertes que yo.
Sácame de esta prisión
para así alabar tu nombre.
Los justos me rodearán,
cuando tú me favorezcas.

Psalm 142[a]

When my spirit grows faint(F) within me,
    it is you who watch over my way.
In the path where I walk

Look and see, there is no one at my right hand;
    no one is concerned for me.
I have no refuge;(G)
    no one cares(H) for my life.

I cry to you, Lord;
    I say, “You are my refuge,(I)
    my portion(J) in the land of the living.”(K)

Listen to my cry,(L)
    for I am in desperate need;(M)
rescue me(N) from those who pursue me,
    for they are too strong(O) for me.
Set me free from my prison,(P)
