⁹ Therefore you pray in this way:

²⁴ “No one is able to serve two masters. For either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You are not able to serve God and money.^[a]

²² And what was sown into the thorn plants—this is the one who hears the word, and the anxiety of this world^[a] and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the word and it becomes unproductive.
