26 After Jesus finished saying all these things [^Cthis is the end of Jesus’ fifth and final discourse in Matthew; see 7:28], he told his ·followers [disciples], ²“You know that ·the day after tomorrow [^Ltwo days from now] is the day of the Passover Feast [^Cthe festival during which an unblemished lamb was sacrificed]. On that day the Son of Man will be ·given to his enemies [handed over] to be crucified.”
