The Visit of the Wise Men

2 Now ^(A)after Jesus was born in ^(B)Bethlehem of Judea ^(C)in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men^[a] from ^(D)the east came to Jerusalem, ² saying, “Where is he who has been born ^(E)king of the Jews? For we saw ^(F)his star when it rose^[b] and have come to ^(G)worship him.”

¹¹ I tell you, ^(A)many will come from east and west and recline at table with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven, ^12 (B)while the sons of the kingdom ^(C)will be thrown into the outer darkness. In that place ^(D)there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”

⁴¹ They said to him, ^(A)“He will put those wretches to a miserable death and ^(B)let out the vineyard to other tenants who will give him the fruits in their seasons.”

⁴² Jesus said to them, ^(C)“Have you never read in the Scriptures:

⁴³ Therefore I tell you, the kingdom of God ^(E)will be taken away from you and given to a people ^(F)producing its fruits.

⁸ Then he said to his servants, ‘The wedding feast is ready, but those invited were not ^(A)worthy. ⁹ Go therefore to the main roads and invite to the wedding feast as many as you find.’ ¹⁰ And those servants went out into the roads and ^(B)gathered all whom they found, both bad and good. So the wedding hall was filled with guests.

¹⁴ And this gospel of the kingdom ^(A)will be proclaimed throughout the whole world ^(B)as a testimony ^(C)to all nations, and ^(D)then the end will come.

³¹ And ^(A)he will send out his angels with a loud ^(B)trumpet call, and they will ^(C)gather ^(D)his elect from ^(E)the four winds, ^(F)from one end of heaven to the other.

¹³ Truly, I say to you, wherever ^(A)this gospel is proclaimed in the whole world, what she has done will also be told ^(B)in memory of her.”
