²³ You, Capernaum, who are exalted to heaven, you will go down to Hades. ^[a] For if the mighty works had been done in Sodom which were done in you, it would have remained until today.

¹⁸ I also tell you that you are Peter,^[a] and on this rock ^[b] I will build my assembly, and the gates of Hades^[c] will not prevail against it.

¹⁵ You, Capernaum, who are exalted to heaven, will be brought down to Hades. ^[a]

²² The beggar died, and he was carried away by the angels to Abraham’s bosom. The rich man also died, and was buried.

²³ In Hades,^[a] he lifted up his eyes, being in torment, and saw Abraham far off, and Lazarus at his bosom.

⁸ And behold, a pale horse, and the name of he who sat on it was Death. Hades^[a] followed with him. Authority over one fourth of the earth, to kill with the sword, with famine, with death, and by the wild animals of the earth was given to him.

¹³ The sea gave up the dead who were in it. Death and Hades^[a] gave up the dead who were in them. They were judged, each one according to his works.
