De romerska soldaterna hånar Jesus
(Matt 27:27-31; Joh 19:2-3)
16 Soldaterna ledde först in Jesus på gården till landshövdingens residens, där hela vaktstyrkan kallades samman. 17 De klädde på honom en purpurröd[a] mantel och vred ihop en krona av törnen som de satte på honom. 18 ”Leve judarnas kung!” ropade de. 19 De slog honom i huvudet med en käpp, spottade på honom och föll på knä för att hylla honom.
20 Efter att ha hånat honom tog de av honom den purpurröda manteln, satte på honom hans egna kläder och förde bort honom för att korsfästas.

The Soldiers Mock Jesus(A)
16 The soldiers led Jesus away into the palace(B) (that is, the Praetorium) and called together the whole company of soldiers. 17 They put a purple robe on him, then twisted together a crown of thorns and set it on him. 18 And they began to call out to him, “Hail, king of the Jews!”(C) 19 Again and again they struck him on the head with a staff and spit on him. Falling on their knees, they paid homage to him. 20 And when they had mocked him, they took off the purple robe and put his own clothes on him. Then they led him out(D) to crucify him.
