Jesus perante Pilatos
(Mt 27.1-2, 11-14; Lc 23.1-5; Jo 18.28-38)
15 De manhã cedo, os principais sacerdotes, os anciãos do povo, os especialistas na Lei e todo o conselho reuniram-se para discutir qual a medida a tomar de seguida. A sua decisão foi mandar Jesus amarrado a Pilatos, o governador romano.
2 Pilatos perguntou-lhe: “És o rei dos judeus?”
Jesus respondeu: “Sim, é como tu dizes.”
3 Então os principais sacerdotes começaram a acusá-lo de muitos crimes. 4 Pilatos perguntou-lhe: “Porque não dizes nada? Que respondes a todas estas acusações que te são feitas?” 5 Mas Jesus não adiantou palavra, para grande espanto de Pilatos.

15 Assim que amanheceu, os líderes dos sacerdotes, os líderes, os professores da lei e todo o Conselho Superior dos judeus chegaram a uma decisão. Eles amarraram Jesus, o levaram e o entregaram a Pilatos. 2 Pilatos lhe perguntou:
—Você é o rei dos judeus?
Ele respondeu:
—Você está dizendo isso.
3 Os líderes dos sacerdotes, então, começaram a acusá-lo de muitas coisas. 4 Pilatos tornou a perguntar:
—Não vai responder nada? Veja quantas acusações estão sendo feitas contra você!
5 Mas mesmo assim Jesus não respondeu e Pilatos ficou muito admirado.

Jesus Before Pilate(A)
15 Very early in the morning, the chief priests, with the elders, the teachers of the law(B) and the whole Sanhedrin,(C) made their plans. So they bound Jesus, led him away and handed him over to Pilate.(D)
2 “Are you the king of the Jews?”(E) asked Pilate.
“You have said so,” Jesus replied.
3 The chief priests accused him of many things. 4 So again Pilate asked him, “Aren’t you going to answer? See how many things they are accusing you of.”
5 But Jesus still made no reply,(F) and Pilate was amazed.
