Jesus entra em Jerusalém
(Mt 21.1-11; Lc 19.28-40; Jo 12.12-19)
11 Quando se aproximavam de Jerusalém, Jesus e seus discípulos foram até Betfagé e Betânia, junto ao monte das Oliveiras. Jesus enviou dois dos seus discípulos, 2 dizendo:
—Vão até aquela vila ali adiante. Assim que entrarem na vila vocês encontrarão preso um jumento que nunca foi montado. Soltem-no e tragam-no até aqui. 3 Se alguém lhes perguntar: “Por que vocês estão fazendo isso?”, respondam: “Porque o Senhor precisa dele, mas logo o devolverá”.
4 Eles partiram e encontraram o jumento preso do lado de fora, perto da porta de uma casa e o soltaram. 5 Algumas pessoas que estavam lá lhes perguntaram:
—O que vocês estão fazendo? Por que estão soltando o jumentinho?
6 Os discípulos responderam o que Jesus tinha mandado que eles respondessem e as pessoas deixaram que eles fossem embora.
7 Eles levaram o jumento até onde Jesus estava, colocaram nele suas capas e Jesus o montou. 8 Muitas pessoas estenderam as suas capas sobre o caminho e outras espalharam ramos que tinham cortado dos campos. 9 E todas as pessoas, tanto os que iam à frente de Jesus como os que iam atrás, gritavam:
—Glória a Deus[a]!
Bendito é aquele que vem em nome do Senhor!(A)
10 Bendito o reino que vem,
o reino do nosso antepassado Davi!
Glória a Deus nas maiores alturas!
11 Jesus entrou na cidade de Jerusalém e se dirigiu para o templo, olhando tudo à sua volta. Como já era tarde, ele partiu para Betânia com seus doze discípulos.

11 As they approached Jerusalem and came to Bethphage and Bethany(C) at the Mount of Olives,(D) Jesus sent two of his disciples, 2 saying to them, “Go to the village ahead of you, and just as you enter it, you will find a colt tied there, which no one has ever ridden.(E) Untie it and bring it here. 3 If anyone asks you, ‘Why are you doing this?’ say, ‘The Lord needs it and will send it back here shortly.’”
4 They went and found a colt outside in the street, tied at a doorway.(F) As they untied it, 5 some people standing there asked, “What are you doing, untying that colt?” 6 They answered as Jesus had told them to, and the people let them go. 7 When they brought the colt to Jesus and threw their cloaks over it, he sat on it. 8 Many people spread their cloaks on the road, while others spread branches they had cut in the fields. 9 Those who went ahead and those who followed shouted,
“Hosanna![a]”
10 “Blessed is the coming kingdom of our father David!”
“Hosanna in the highest heaven!”(H)
11 Jesus entered Jerusalem and went into the temple courts. He looked around at everything, but since it was already late, he went out to Bethany with the Twelve.(I)
