Mark 9:9-19
English Standard Version
9 (A)And as they were coming down the mountain, (B)he charged them to tell no one what they had seen, (C)until the Son of Man had risen from the dead. 10 (D)So they kept the matter to themselves, (E)questioning what this rising from the dead might mean. 11 And they asked him, “Why do the scribes say (F)that first Elijah must come?” 12 And he said to them, “Elijah does come first (G)to restore all things. And (H)how is it written of the Son of Man that he should (I)suffer many things and (J)be treated with contempt? 13 But I tell you that Elijah has come, and (K)they did to him whatever they pleased, as it is written of him.”
Jesus Heals a Boy with an Unclean Spirit
14 (L)And when they came to the disciples, they saw a great crowd around them, and scribes arguing with them. 15 And immediately all the crowd, when they saw him, (M)were greatly amazed and ran up to him and greeted him. 16 And he asked them, “What are you arguing about with them?” 17 And someone from the crowd answered him, “Teacher, I brought my son to you, for he has (N)a spirit that makes him mute. 18 And whenever it seizes him, it throws him down, and he foams and grinds his teeth and becomes rigid. So I asked your disciples to cast it out, and (O)they were not able.” 19 And he answered them, “O (P)faithless generation, (Q)how long am I to be with you? How long am I to bear with you? Bring him to me.”

Mark 9:9-19
New International Version
9 As they were coming down the mountain, Jesus gave them orders not to tell anyone(A) what they had seen until the Son of Man(B) had risen from the dead. 10 They kept the matter to themselves, discussing what “rising from the dead” meant.
11 And they asked him, “Why do the teachers of the law say that Elijah must come first?”
12 Jesus replied, “To be sure, Elijah does come first, and restores all things. Why then is it written that the Son of Man(C) must suffer much(D) and be rejected?(E) 13 But I tell you, Elijah has come,(F) and they have done to him everything they wished, just as it is written about him.”
Jesus Heals a Boy Possessed by an Impure Spirit(G)
14 When they came to the other disciples, they saw a large crowd around them and the teachers of the law arguing with them. 15 As soon as all the people saw Jesus, they were overwhelmed with wonder and ran to greet him.
16 “What are you arguing with them about?” he asked.
17 A man in the crowd answered, “Teacher, I brought you my son, who is possessed by a spirit that has robbed him of speech. 18 Whenever it seizes him, it throws him to the ground. He foams at the mouth, gnashes his teeth and becomes rigid. I asked your disciples to drive out the spirit, but they could not.”
19 “You unbelieving generation,” Jesus replied, “how long shall I stay with you? How long shall I put up with you? Bring the boy to me.”
