¹⁰ They kept this word^(A) to themselves, questioning what ‘rising from the dead’ meant.

¹¹ Then they asked him, ‘Why do the scribes^(B) say that Elijah must come first? ’^(C)

¹² ‘Elijah does come first and restores^(D) all things,’^(E) he replied. ‘Why then is it written^(F) that the Son of Man must suffer^(G) many things and be treated with contempt?^(H)
