Mark 6:24-26

24 Then she went out and said to her mother, “What should I ask for?”
“John the Baptist’s(A) head!” she said.
25 Immediately she hurried to the king and said, “I want you to give me John the Baptist’s(B) head on a platter(C)—right now!”
26 Though the king was deeply distressed,(D) because of his oaths(E) and the guests[a] he did not want to refuse(F) her.

New International Version
24 She went out and said to her mother, “What shall I ask for?”
“The head of John the Baptist,” she answered.
25 At once the girl hurried in to the king with the request: “I want you to give me right now the head of John the Baptist on a platter.”
26 The king was greatly distressed, but because of his oaths and his dinner guests, he did not want to refuse her.
