⁸ Right away^(A) Jesus understood in His spirit^(B) that they were thinking like this within themselves and said to them, “Why are you thinking these things in your hearts?^{[a] 9} Which is easier:^(C) to say to the paralytic,^(D) ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Get up, pick up your mat, and walk’?^{(E) 10} But so you may know that the Son of Man^(F) has authority^(G) on earth to forgive sins,”^(H) He told the paralytic,
