Uzdrowienie człowieka z bezwładną ręką
3 I znów przyszedł do synagogi. A był tam człowiek, który cierpiał na bezwład ręki. 2 I śledzili Go, czy w szabat dokona na nim uzdrowienia, chcieli Go bowiem oskarżyć.
3 W pewnej chwili Jezus zwrócił się do człowieka z bezwładną ręką: Wstań i wyjdź na środek. 4 A ich zapytał: Czy wolno w szabat wyświadczać dobro, czy zło; życie ocalić czy odebrać? Oni jednak milczeli.
5 Wtedy, zasmucony z powodu ich twardych niczym skała serc, powiódł po nich gniewnym spojrzeniem i polecił choremu: Wyciągnij rękę! I ten wyciągnął. Jego ręka stała się zdrowa jak dawniej. 6 Faryzeusze natomiast, gdy tylko wyszli z synagogi, zaczęli wraz ze zwolennikami Heroda knuć spisek przeciw Niemu. Zastanawiali się, jak by Go tu zgładzić.
Spotkanie nad jeziorem
7 Jezus tymczasem wraz ze swoimi uczniami oddalił się w stronę jeziora. Ruszył za Nim wielki tłum ludzi z Galilei, z Judei, 8 z Jerozolimy, z Idumei, zza Jordanu oraz z okolic Tyru i Sydonu. Ci wszyscy ludzie przybyli do Niego, gdyż dowiedzieli się o wszystkim, co czynił.
9 On natomiast polecił swoim uczniom, by trzymali w pogotowiu łódkę, na wypadek, gdyby nie dało się powstrzymać tłumu. 10 Wielu bowiem uzdrowił, dlatego ci, którzy na coś cierpieli, parli na Niego i chcieli Go dotknąć. 11 A duchy nieczyste, ilekroć Go widziały, padały przed Nim z okrzykiem: Ty jesteś Synem Bożym! 12 Lecz On często zabraniał im ujawniania Go.
Wybór Dwunastu
13 Następnie wszedł na górę, po czym przywołał do siebie tych, których On sam chciał, a oni przyszli do Niego. 14 I powołał dwunastu, których też nazwał apostołami. Wybrał ich po to, by Mu towarzyszyli, by móc ich posyłać do głoszenia dobrej nowiny 15 oraz by ich obdarzyć władzą wypędzania demonów. 16 Powołał ich zatem dwunastu:
Szymona, któremu nadał przydomek Piotr,
17 Jakuba, syna Zebedeusza,
i jego brata Jana — tym nadał przydomek Boanerges, co znaczy Synowie Gromu —
18 Andrzeja,
Filipa,
Bartłomieja,
Mateusza,
Tomasza,
Jakuba, syna Halfeusza,
Tadeusza,
Szymona Zelotę
19 i Judasza Iskariota, który Go potem wydał.
Grzech przeciw Duchowi Świętemu
20 Następnie udał się do domu. I znów zszedł się tłum, tak że nawet nie zdążyli się posilić. 21 A gdy Jego bliscy dowiedzieli się o tym, wyruszyli po Niego, gdyż rozniosło się, że odszedł od zmysłów.
22 Znawcy Prawa natomiast, którzy przybyli z Jerozolimy, utrzymywali, że ma w sobie Beelzebula i że wypędza demony za sprawą tego ich władcy.
23 W związku z tymi zarzutami Jezus zwołał ich do siebie i zaczął im wyjaśniać odwołując się do przykładów: Jak może szatan wypędzać szatana? 24 Jeśli jakieś królestwo jest wewnętrznie podzielone, czeka je upadek. 25 I jeśli w jakimś domu brakuje jedności, grozi mu ruina. 26 Podobnie jeśli szatan powstaje przeciw samemu sobie, oznacza to jego koniec. 27 Nikt przecież nie zdoła wtargnąć do domu dobrze uzbrojonego człowieka, by zagarnąć jego dobytek, jeśli najpierw go nie obezwładni; dopiero wtedy może ograbić jego dom.
28 Oświadczam wam, wszystkie grzechy będą synom ludzkim przebaczone, nawet obrażanie Boga, ilekroć by się go dopuścili. 29 Kto by jednak obraził Ducha Świętego, nie dostąpi przebaczenia na wieki, lecz ciąży na nim grzech wieczny. 30 Powiedział to, gdyż zaczęli rozgłaszać, że jest w Nim duch nieczysty.
Prawdziwa rodzina
31 Tymczasem przyszła Jego matka oraz Jego bracia. Zatrzymali się na zewnątrz i posłali do Niego wiadomość, aby Go przywołać. 32 Wokół Niego natomiast siedział tłum. Donieśli Mu zatem: Oto Twoja matka, Twoi bracia i Twoje siostry stoją na zewnątrz i proszą, abyś wyszedł.
33 Wtedy im odpowiedział: Kto jest moją matką i moimi braćmi? 34 Po czym powiódł oczyma po tych, którzy wokół Niego siedzieli, i oświadczył: Oto moja matka i moi bracia. 35 Każdy bowiem, kto spełnia wolę Boga, ten jest moim bratem i siostrą, i matką.

Jesus Heals on the Sabbath
3 Another time Jesus went into the synagogue,(A) and a man with a shriveled hand was there. 2 Some of them were looking for a reason to accuse Jesus, so they watched him closely(B) to see if he would heal him on the Sabbath.(C) 3 Jesus said to the man with the shriveled hand, “Stand up in front of everyone.”
4 Then Jesus asked them, “Which is lawful on the Sabbath: to do good or to do evil, to save life or to kill?” But they remained silent.
5 He looked around at them in anger and, deeply distressed at their stubborn hearts, said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” He stretched it out, and his hand was completely restored. 6 Then the Pharisees went out and began to plot with the Herodians(D) how they might kill Jesus.(E)
Crowds Follow Jesus(F)
7 Jesus withdrew with his disciples to the lake, and a large crowd from Galilee followed.(G) 8 When they heard about all he was doing, many people came to him from Judea, Jerusalem, Idumea, and the regions across the Jordan and around Tyre and Sidon.(H) 9 Because of the crowd he told his disciples to have a small boat ready for him, to keep the people from crowding him. 10 For he had healed many,(I) so that those with diseases were pushing forward to touch him.(J) 11 Whenever the impure spirits saw him, they fell down before him and cried out, “You are the Son of God.”(K) 12 But he gave them strict orders not to tell others about him.(L)
Jesus Appoints the Twelve(M)
13 Jesus went up on a mountainside and called to him those he wanted, and they came to him.(N) 14 He appointed twelve[a](O) that they might be with him and that he might send them out to preach 15 and to have authority to drive out demons.(P) 16 These are the twelve he appointed: Simon (to whom he gave the name Peter),(Q) 17 James son of Zebedee and his brother John (to them he gave the name Boanerges, which means “sons of thunder”), 18 Andrew, Philip, Bartholomew, Matthew, Thomas, James son of Alphaeus, Thaddaeus, Simon the Zealot 19 and Judas Iscariot, who betrayed him.
Jesus Accused by His Family and by Teachers of the Law(R)(S)
20 Then Jesus entered a house, and again a crowd gathered,(T) so that he and his disciples were not even able to eat.(U) 21 When his family[b] heard about this, they went to take charge of him, for they said, “He is out of his mind.”(V)
22 And the teachers of the law who came down from Jerusalem(W) said, “He is possessed by Beelzebul!(X) By the prince of demons he is driving out demons.”(Y)
23 So Jesus called them over to him and began to speak to them in parables:(Z) “How can Satan(AA) drive out Satan? 24 If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. 25 If a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand. 26 And if Satan opposes himself and is divided, he cannot stand; his end has come. 27 In fact, no one can enter a strong man’s house without first tying him up. Then he can plunder the strong man’s house.(AB) 28 Truly I tell you, people can be forgiven all their sins and every slander they utter, 29 but whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven; they are guilty of an eternal sin.”(AC)
30 He said this because they were saying, “He has an impure spirit.”
31 Then Jesus’ mother and brothers arrived.(AD) Standing outside, they sent someone in to call him. 32 A crowd was sitting around him, and they told him, “Your mother and brothers are outside looking for you.”
33 “Who are my mother and my brothers?” he asked.
34 Then he looked at those seated in a circle around him and said, “Here are my mother and my brothers! 35 Whoever does God’s will is my brother and sister and mother.”
