GIA PHẢ VÀ SỰ GIÁNG SINH CỦA ÐỨC CHÚA JESUS
(1:1 – 2:23)
Gia Phả của Ðức Chúa Jesus
(Lu 3:23-38; Ru 4:18-22; 1 Sử 3:10-17)
1 Ðây là gia phả của Ðức Chúa Jesus Christ, con cháu[a] Ða-vít, con cháu Áp-ra-ham.
2 Áp-ra-ham sinh I-sác; I-sác sinh Gia-cốp; Gia-cốp sinh Giu-đa và các anh em ông ấy. 3 Giu-đa bởi Ta-ma sinh Pa-rê và Xê-ra. Pa-rê sinh Hê-rôn; Hê-rôn sinh A-ram; 4 A-ram sinh A-mi-na-đáp; A-mi-na-đáp sinh Nát-sôn; Nát-sôn sinh Sanh-môn. 5 Sanh-môn bởi Ra-háp sinh Bô-a. Bô-a bởi Ru-tơ sinh Ô-bết. Ô-bết sinh Giê-se; 6 Giê-se sinh Vua Ða-vít.
Ða-vít bởi vợ của U-ri-a sinh Sa-lô-môn. 7 Sa-lô-môn sinh Rê-hô-bô-am; Rê-hô-bô-am sinh A-bi-gia; A-bi-gia sinh A-sa. 8 A-sa sinh Giê-hô-sa-phát; Giê-hô-sa-phát sinh Giô-ram; Giô-ram sinh U-xi-a. 9 U-xi-a sinh Giô-tham; Giô-tham sinh A-kha; A-kha sinh Ê-xê-chia. 10 Ê-xê-chia sinh Ma-na-se; Ma-na-se sinh A-môn; A-môn sinh Giô-si-a. 11 Giô-si-a sinh Giê-khô-ni-a và các anh em ông ấy vào thời bị lưu đày qua Ba-by-lôn.
12 Sau khi bị đày qua Ba-by-lôn, Giê-khô-ni-a sinh Sa-la-thi-ên; Sa-la-thi-ên sinh Xê-ru-ba-bên; 13 Xê-ru-ba-bên sinh A-bi-út; A-bi-út sinh Ê-li-a-kim; Ê-li-a-kim sinh A-xô. 14 A-xô sinh Xa-đốc; Xa-đốc sinh A-khim; A-khim sinh Ê-li-út; 15 Ê-li-út sinh Ê-lê-a-xa; Ê-lê-a-xa sinh Ma-than; Ma-than sinh Gia-cốp; 16 Gia-cốp sinh Giô-sép chồng của Ma-ry; Ma-ry là người đã sinh Ðức Chúa Jesus cũng gọi là Ðấng Christ.[b]
17 Như vậy, từ Áp-ra-ham đến Ða-vít tất cả là mười bốn đời, từ Ða-vít đến khi bị lưu đày qua Ba-by-lôn mười bốn đời, và từ khi bị lưu đày qua Ba-by-lôn đến Ðấng Christ mười bốn đời.

1 Gia phổ của Chúa Cứu Thế Giê-su,[a] dòng dõi Đa-vít, con cháu Áp-ra-ham.[b]
2 Áp-ra-ham sinh Y-sác,
Y-sác sinh Gia-cốp,
Gia-cốp sinh Giu-đa và anh em người,
3 Giu-đa sinh Pha-rết và Xê-ra mẹ là Ta-ma,
Pha-rết sinh Ếch-rôm,
Ếch-rôm sinh A-ram,
4 A-ram sinh A-mi-na-đáp,
A-mi-na-đáp sinh Na-ách-son,
Na-ách-son sinh Sanh-môn,
5 Sanh-môn sinh Bô-ô mẹ là Ra-háp,
Bô-ô sinh Ô-bết mẹ là Ru-tơ,
Ô-bết sinh Gie-sê,
6 Gie-sê sinh vua Đa-vít,
Đa-vít sinh Sa-lô-môn, mẹ nguyên là vợ U-ri,
7 Sa-lô-môn sinh Rô-bô-am,
Rô-bô-am sinh A-bi-gia,
A-bi-gia sinh A-sa,
8 A-sa sinh Giô-sa-phát,
Giô-sa-phát sinh Giô-ram,
Giô-ram sinh Ô-xia,
9 Ô-xia sinh Giô-tham,
Giô-tham sinh A-cha,
A-cha sinh Ê-xê-chia,
10 Ê-xê-chia sinh Ma-na-se,
Ma-na-se sinh A-môn,
A-môn sinh Giô-si-a,
11 Giô-si-a sinh Giê-cô-nia và các em người lúc bị lưu đày tại Ba-by-lôn.
12 Sau khi bị lưu đày tại Ba-by-lôn,
Giê-cô-nia sinh Sa-la-thi-ên,
Sa-la-thi-ên sinh Xô-rô-ba-bên,
13 Xô-rô-ba-bên sinh A-bi-út,
A-bi-út sinh Ê-li-a-kim,
Ê-li-a-kim sinh A-xô,
14 A-xô sinh Sa-đốc,
Sa-đốc sinh A-chim,
A-chim sinh Ê-li-út,
15 Ê-li-út sinh Ê-li-a-xa,
Ê-li-a-xa sinh Ma-than,
Ma-than sinh Gia-cốp,
16 Gia-cốp sinh Giô-sép, chồng của Ma-ri. Ma-ri sinh Đức Giê-su, Chúa Cứu Thế.
17 Như thế từ Áp-ra-ham cho đến Đa-vít kể tất cả là mười bốn đời, từ Đa-vít cho đến khi bị lưu đày qua Ba-by-lôn là mười bốn đời, và từ lúc lưu đày tại Ba-by-lôn cho đến Chúa Cứu Thế cũng mười bốn đời.

2 Abraham was the father of Isaac,(F)
Isaac the father of Jacob,(G)
Jacob the father of Judah and his brothers,(H)
3 Judah the father of Perez and Zerah, whose mother was Tamar,(I)
Perez the father of Hezron,
Hezron the father of Ram,
4 Ram the father of Amminadab,
Amminadab the father of Nahshon,
Nahshon the father of Salmon,
5 Salmon the father of Boaz, whose mother was Rahab,(J)
Boaz the father of Obed, whose mother was Ruth,
Obed the father of Jesse,
6 and Jesse the father of King David.(K)
David was the father of Solomon, whose mother had been Uriah’s wife,(L)
7 Solomon the father of Rehoboam,
Rehoboam the father of Abijah,
Abijah the father of Asa,
8 Asa the father of Jehoshaphat,
Jehoshaphat the father of Jehoram,
Jehoram the father of Uzziah,
9 Uzziah the father of Jotham,
Jotham the father of Ahaz,
Ahaz the father of Hezekiah,
10 Hezekiah the father of Manasseh,(M)
Manasseh the father of Amon,
Amon the father of Josiah,
11 and Josiah the father of Jeconiah[c] and his brothers at the time of the exile to Babylon.(N)
12 After the exile to Babylon:
Jeconiah was the father of Shealtiel,(O)
Shealtiel the father of Zerubbabel,(P)
13 Zerubbabel the father of Abihud,
Abihud the father of Eliakim,
Eliakim the father of Azor,
14 Azor the father of Zadok,
Zadok the father of Akim,
Akim the father of Elihud,
15 Elihud the father of Eleazar,
Eleazar the father of Matthan,
Matthan the father of Jacob,
16 and Jacob the father of Joseph, the husband of Mary,(Q) and Mary was the mother of Jesus who is called the Messiah.(R)
17 Thus there were fourteen generations in all from Abraham to David, fourteen from David to the exile to Babylon, and fourteen from the exile to the Messiah.
