Chúa Báo Trước về Ðền Thờ Sẽ Bị Phá Hủy
(Mat 24:1-2; Lu 21:5-6)
13 Ðang khi Ngài ra khỏi đền thờ, một môn đồ của Ngài nói với Ngài, “Thưa Thầy, xin Thầy xem, những tảng đá này to lớn biết bao! Những tòa nhà này hoành tráng dường nào!”
2 Ðức Chúa Jesus nói với ông, “Ngươi thấy những tòa nhà to lớn này chăng? Rồi đây sẽ không còn một tảng đá nào chồng trên một tảng đá nào. Tất cả sẽ bị đổ xuống.”
Ðiềm Báo Trước Ngày Tận Thế
(Mat 24:3-14; Lu 21:7-19)
3 Khi Ngài ngồi trên Núi Ô-liu đối diện với đền thờ, Phi-rơ, Gia-cơ, Giăng, và Anh-rê đến hỏi riêng Ngài, 4 “Xin Thầy nói cho chúng con biết khi nào việc ấy sẽ xảy ra, và có dấu hiệu nào báo trước những việc ấy sẽ được ứng nghiệm chăng?”
5 Ðức Chúa Jesus bắt đầu nói với họ, “Hãy coi chừng, đừng để ai lừa gạt các ngươi. 6 Nhiều kẻ sẽ mạo danh Ta đến và nói rằng, ‘Ta là Ðấng Christ,’[a] và lừa gạt nhiều người. 7 Khi các ngươi nghe tin tức về chiến tranh và tiếng đồn về chiến tranh, đừng kinh hoảng. Ðiều ấy phải xảy đến, nhưng chưa là tận thế đâu, 8 vì dân này sẽ nổi lên nghịch với dân khác, nước nọ sẽ chống lại nước kia. Nhiều nơi sẽ có động đất, và nhiều chỗ sẽ có nạn đói. Nhưng đó chỉ là những quặn thắt khởi đầu của cơn đau chuyển bụng sinh.
9 Phần các ngươi, hãy coi chừng; vì người ta sẽ bắt nộp các ngươi cho các tòa án, và các ngươi sẽ bị đánh đập trong các hội đường. Vì cớ Ta, các ngươi sẽ bị đem ra xử trước mặt các quan và các vua, và đây là cơ hội để các ngươi làm chứng cho họ. 10 Nhưng trước hết Tin Mừng phải được rao giảng cho mọi dân.
11 Khi họ bắt và nộp các ngươi cho những kẻ cầm quyền để bị xét xử, đừng lo trước phải nói gì, nhưng hãy nói những gì được ban cho các ngươi trong giờ đó, vì không phải các ngươi tự mình nói nhưng là Ðức Thánh Linh. 12 Anh chị em[b] sẽ phản nộp nhau cho người ta giết; cha sẽ nộp con; con cái sẽ nổi lên chống lại cha mẹ, khiến cha mẹ bị giết. 13 Các ngươi sẽ bị mọi người ghét vì danh Ta. Nhưng ai bền chí đến cuối cùng sẽ được cứu.”
Chúa Báo Trước về Những Khó Khăn
(Mat 24:15-28; Lu 21:20-24)
14 “Khi các ngươi thấy thứ gớm ghiếc gây nên hoang tàn được bày ra trong nơi nó không được phép bày ra – ai đọc phải cố hiểu– lúc ấy ai đang ở Giu-đê, hãy trốn lên núi; 15 ai đang ở trên sân thượng, đừng đi xuống và đừng vô nhà lấy gì ra; 16 ai đang ở ngoài đồng, đừng về nhà lấy áo choàng. 17 Trong những ngày đó, tội nghiệp thay cho những phụ nữ mang thai và những người mẹ có con thơ còn bú. 18 Hãy cầu nguyện để điều đó không xảy đến vào mùa đông, 19 vì trong những ngày đó sẽ có một cơn hoạn nạn khủng khiếp chưa từng có kể từ khi sáng thế, lúc Ðức Chúa Trời tạo nên vạn vật, cho đến bấy giờ và sau này sẽ không bao giờ có như vậy. 20 Và nếu Chúa không giảm bớt những ngày ấy, không ai có thể được cứu. Nhưng vì cớ những người được chọn, Ngài sẽ giảm bớt những ngày ấy.
21 Khi ấy nếu ai nói với các ngươi, ‘Này, Ðấng Christ ở đây,’ hay ‘Kìa, Ngài ở đó,’ thì đừng tin, 22 vì sẽ có các Ðấng Christ giả và các tiên tri giả nổi lên. Chúng sẽ làm những dấu kỳ và phép lạ để, nếu có thể được, lừa gạt ngay cả những người được chọn. 23 Phần các ngươi, hãy coi chừng. Ta đã báo trước cho các ngươi những điều đó rồi.”
Chúa Báo Trước về Sự Tái Lâm
(Mat 24:29-31; Lu 21:25-28)
24 “Nhưng trong những ngày ấy, sau cơn đại nạn, mặt trời sẽ trở nên tối tăm, mặt trăng sẽ không tỏa sáng, 25 các vì sao sẽ từ trời sa xuống, và các quyền lực trên không trung sẽ bị rúng động. 26 Bấy giờ người ta sẽ thấy Con Người ngự đến trong mây trời với đại quyền đại vinh. 27 Lúc ấy Người sẽ sai các thiên sứ nhóm họp những người được chọn của Người từ bốn phương[c] lại, từ cuối các góc đất đến tận các chân trời.”
Bài Học về Cây Vả
(Mat 24:32-35; Lu 21:29-33)
28 “Các ngươi hãy học bài học về cây vả: khi cành nó vừa đâm chồi nẩy lộc, các ngươi biết mùa hè gần đến. 29 Cũng vậy, khi các ngươi thấy những điều ấy xảy ra, khá biết rằng việc ấy đang đến gần, tới cổng rồi. 30 Quả thật, Ta nói với các ngươi, thế hệ[d] này sẽ không qua đi trước khi những điều ấy xảy ra. 31 Trời đất sẽ qua đi, nhưng những lời Ta sẽ không qua đi.”
Không Ai Biết Ngày Giờ Chúa Trở Lại
(Mat 24:36-44)
32 “Còn về ngày và giờ đó, không ai biết. Các thiên sứ trên trời không biết, Con cũng không biết, nhưng chỉ Cha biết. 33 Hãy coi chừng, hãy tỉnh thức,[e] vì các ngươi không biết khi nào việc ấy xảy ra. 34 Giống như một người chủ kia có việc phải đi xa. Trước khi rời nhà ông trao quyền cho các đầy tớ trông coi việc nhà, chỉ định công việc cho mỗi người; riêng với những người canh cửa, ông bảo phải thức canh. 35 Vậy hãy thức canh, vì các ngươi không biết khi nào chủ nhà sẽ về, hoặc hoàng hôn, hoặc nửa khuya, hoặc lúc gà gáy, hoặc bình minh, 36 kẻo chủ về thình lình và bắt gặp các ngươi đang ngủ chăng. 37 Những gì Ta nói với các ngươi, Ta cũng nói với mọi người: hãy thức canh.”

13 And as he went forth out of the temple, one of his disciples saith unto him, Teacher, behold, what manner of stones and what manner of buildings! 2 And Jesus said unto him, Seest thou these great buildings? there shall not be left here one stone upon another, which shall not be thrown down.
3 And as he sat on the mount of Olives over against the temple, Peter and [a]James and John and Andrew asked him privately, 4 Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign when these things are all about to be accomplished? 5 And Jesus began to say unto them, Take heed that no man lead you astray. 6 Many shall come in my name, saying, I am he; and shall lead many astray. 7 And when ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars, be not troubled: these things must needs come to pass; but the end is not yet. 8 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; there shall be earthquakes in divers places; there shall be famines: these things are the beginning of travail.
9 But take ye heed to yourselves: for they shall deliver you up to councils; and in synagogues shall ye be beaten; and before governors and kings shall ye stand for my sake, for a testimony unto them. 10 And the [b]gospel must first be preached unto all the nations. 11 And when they lead you to judgment, and deliver you up, be not anxious beforehand what ye shall speak: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye; for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Spirit. 12 And brother shall [c]deliver up brother to death, and the father his child; and children shall rise up against parents, and [d]cause them to be put to death. 13 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake: but he that endureth to the end, the same shall be saved.
14 But when ye see the abomination of desolation standing where he ought not (let him that readeth understand), then let them that are in Judaea flee unto the mountains: 15 and let him that is on the housetop not go down, nor enter in, to take anything out of his house: 16 and let him that is in the field not return back to take his cloak. 17 But woe unto them that are with child and to them that give suck in those days! 18 And pray ye that it be not in the winter. 19 For those days shall be tribulation, such as there hath not been the like from the beginning of the creation which God created until now, and never shall be. 20 And except the Lord had shortened the days, no flesh would have been saved; but for the elect’s sake, whom he chose, he shortened the days. 21 And then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is the Christ; or, Lo, there; believe [e]it not: 22 for there shall arise false Christs and false prophets, and shall show signs and wonders, that they may lead astray, if possible, the elect. 23 But take ye heed: behold, I have told you all things beforehand.
24 But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, 25 and the stars shall be falling from heaven, and the powers that are in the heavens shall be shaken. 26 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in clouds with great power and glory. 27 And then shall he send forth the angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven.
28 Now from the fig tree learn her parable: when her branch is now become tender, and putteth forth its leaves, ye know that the summer is nigh; 29 even so ye also, when ye see these things coming to pass, know ye that [f]he is nigh, even at the doors. 30 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, until all these things be accomplished. 31 Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away. 32 But of that day or that hour knoweth no one, not even the angels in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.
33 Take ye heed, watch [g]and pray: for ye know not when the time is. 34 It is as when a man, sojourning in another country, having left his house, and given authority to his [h]servants, to each one his work, commanded also the porter to watch. 35 Watch therefore: for ye know not when the lord of the house cometh, whether at even, or at midnight, or at cockcrowing, or in the morning; 36 lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping. 37 And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.

Jesus Tells of the House of God (A)
13 Jesus went out of the house of God. One of His followers said to Him, “Teacher, look at the big stones and these great buildings!” 2 Jesus said, “Do you see these great buildings? All these stones will be thrown down. Not one will be left standing on another.”
Jesus Teaches on the Mount Of Olives
3 Jesus sat down on the Mount of Olives at a place where He could see the house of God. Peter and James and John and Andrew came to Him. They asked without anyone else hearing, 4 “Tell us when this will be. What are we to look for when these things are to happen?”
What to Look for Before Jesus Returns
5 Jesus began to say to them, “Be careful that no one leads you the wrong way. 6 Many people will come using My name. They will say, ‘I am Christ.’ They will turn many to the wrong way. 7 When you hear of wars and much talk about wars, do not be surprised. These things have to happen. But the end is not yet. 8 Nations will have wars with other nations. Countries will fight against countries. The earth will shake and break apart in different places. There will be no food for people. There will be much trouble. These things are the beginning of much sorrow and pain.
It Will Be Hard for Those Who Believe
9 “Watch out for yourselves. They will take you to the courts. In the places of worship they will beat you. You will be taken in front of rulers and in front of kings because of Me. You will be there to tell them about Me. 10 The Good News must first be preached to all the nations.
11 “When you are put into their hands, do not be afraid of what you are to say or how you are to say it. Whatever is given to you to say at that time, say it. It will not be you who speaks, but the Holy Spirit. 12 A brother will hand over a brother to death. A father will hand over his son. Children will turn against their parents and have them put to death. 13 You will be hated by all people because of Me. But he who stays true to the end will be saved.
Days of Trouble and Pain and Sorrow
14 “You will see a very sinful man-made god standing in the house of God where it has no right to stand. Then those in the country of Judea should run to the mountains. It was spoken of by the early preacher Daniel. (B) The one who reads this should understand. 15 He that is on the top of the house should not take the time to get anything out of his house. 16 He that is in the field should not go back to get his coat. 17 It will be hard for women who will soon be mothers. It will be hard for those feeding babies in those days! 18 Pray that it will not be during the winter. 19 In those days there will be much trouble and pain and sorrow. It has never been this bad from the beginning of time and never will be again. 20 If the Lord had not made those days short, no life would have been saved. Because of God’s people whom He has chosen, He made the days short.
The False Religious Teachers
21 “If anyone says to you, ‘See! Here is the Christ,’ or, ‘There He is!’ do not believe it. 22 Some will come who will say they are Christ. False preachers will come. These people will do special things for people to see. They will do surprising things, so that if it can be, God’s people will be led to believe something wrong. 23 See! I have told you about these things before they happen.
Jesus Will Come Again in His Greatness
24 “After those days of much trouble and pain and sorrow are over, the sun will get dark. The moon will not give light. 25 The stars will fall from the sky. The powers in the heavens will be shaken. 26 Then they will see the Son of Man coming in the clouds with great power and shining-greatness. 27 He will send His angels. They will gather together God’s people from the four winds. They will come from one end of the earth to the other end of heaven.
The Picture-Story of the Fig Tree
28 “Now learn something from the fig tree. When the branch begins to grow and puts out its leaves, you know summer is near. 29 In the same way, when you see all these things happen, you know the Son of Man is near. He is even at the door. 30 For sure, I tell you, the people of this day will not pass away before all these things have happened.
31 “Heaven and earth will pass away, but My Words will not pass away. 32 But no one knows the day or the hour. No! Not even the angels in heaven know. The Son does not know. Only the Father knows.
33 “Be careful! Watch and pray. You do not know when it will happen. 34 The coming of the Son of Man is as a man who went from his house to a far country. He gave each one of his servants some work to do. He told the one standing at the door to watch. 35 In the same way, you are to watch also! You do not know when the Owner of the house will be coming. It may be in the evening or in the night or when the sun comes up or in the morning. 36 He may come when you are not looking for Him and find you sleeping. 37 What I say to you, I say to all. Watch!”
