O Senhor do sábado
(Mt 12.1-8; Mc 2.23-28)
6 Certo sábado, atravessando Jesus e os seus discípulos umas searas, iam arrancando espigas de trigo, que esfregavam entre as mãos para comer os grãos. 2 Alguns fariseus, porém, disseram: “Porque estão a fazer o que não é permitido no dia de sábado?”
3 Ao que Jesus respondeu: “Vocês não leram o que o rei David fez quando ele e os companheiros estavam com fome, 4 como entrou na casa de Deus, comeu e deu a comer também aos seus companheiros os pães da Presença, que apenas aos sacerdotes era permitido comer?[a]” 5 Jesus acrescentou “Eu, o Filho do Homem, sou o Senhor do próprio sábado.”

Jesus Is Lord of the Sabbath(A)
6 One Sabbath Jesus was going through the grainfields, and his disciples began to pick some heads of grain, rub them in their hands and eat the kernels.(B) 2 Some of the Pharisees asked, “Why are you doing what is unlawful on the Sabbath?”(C)
3 Jesus answered them, “Have you never read what David did when he and his companions were hungry?(D) 4 He entered the house of God, and taking the consecrated bread, he ate what is lawful only for priests to eat.(E) And he also gave some to his companions.” 5 Then Jesus said to them, “The Son of Man(F) is Lord of the Sabbath.”
