29 Khi đám đông tụ lại đông nghẹt, Ngài bắt đầu nói, “Thế hệ này là một thế hệ gian tà. Họ đòi xem một dấu lạ, nhưng họ sẽ không được ban cho dấu lạ nào, ngoại trừ dấu lạ của Giô-na. 30 Vì Giô-na đã thành một dấu lạ cho dân Ni-ni-ve thể nào, Con Người cũng sẽ thành một dấu lạ cho thế hệ này thể ấy. 31 Trong ngày phán xét, nữ hoàng phương nam sẽ đứng dậy với những người của thế hệ này và sẽ lên án họ, vì bà đã từ nơi tận cùng trái đất đến nghe lời khôn ngoan của Sa-lô-môn; và này, có một Ðấng vĩ đại hơn Sa-lô-môn đang ở đây. 32 Trong ngày phán xét, dân Ni-ni-ve sẽ đứng dậy với thế hệ này và lên án họ, vì dân ấy đã ăn năn khi nghe Giô-na giảng; và này, có một Ðấng vĩ đại hơn Giô-na đang ở đây.”

The Sign of Jonah(A)
29 As the crowds increased, Jesus said, “This is a wicked generation. It asks for a sign,(B) but none will be given it except the sign of Jonah.(C) 30 For as Jonah was a sign to the Ninevites, so also will the Son of Man be to this generation. 31 The Queen of the South will rise at the judgment with the people of this generation and condemn them, for she came from the ends of the earth to listen to Solomon’s wisdom;(D) and now something greater than Solomon is here. 32 The men of Nineveh will stand up at the judgment with this generation and condemn it, for they repented at the preaching of Jonah;(E) and now something greater than Jonah is here.
