¹¹ Then Herod and his soldiers ridiculed and mocked him. Dressing him in an elegant robe,^(A) they sent him back to Pilate. ¹² That day Herod and Pilate became friends^(B)—before this they had been enemies.

²⁵ You spoke by the Holy Spirit through the mouth of your servant, our father David:^(A)

²⁷ Indeed Herod^(C) and Pontius Pilate^(D) met together with the Gentiles and the people of Israel in this city to conspire against your holy servant Jesus,^(E) whom you anointed.

¹⁴ But the Pharisees went out and plotted how they might kill Jesus.^(A)

³ Then the chief priests and the elders of the people assembled^(A) in the palace of the high priest, whose name was Caiaphas,^{(B) 4} and they schemed to arrest Jesus secretly and kill him.^(C)

⁴⁷ While he was still speaking, Judas,^(B) one of the Twelve, arrived. With him was a large crowd armed with swords and clubs, sent from the chief priests and the elders of the people.
