⁴⁰ And Jesus stopped and commanded him to be brought to him. And when he came near, he asked him,

⁴⁸ And many ^(A)rebuked him, telling him to be silent. But he cried out all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!” ⁴⁹ And Jesus stopped and said, “Call him.” And they called the blind man, saying to him, ^(B)“Take heart. Get up; he is calling you.” ⁵⁰ And throwing off his ^(C)cloak, he sprang up and came to Jesus. ⁵¹ And Jesus said to him, ^(D)“What do you want me to do for you?” And the blind man said to him, ^(E)“Rabbi, let me recover my sight.” ⁵² And Jesus said to him, “Go your way; ^(F)your faith has ^(G)made you well.” And immediately he recovered his sight and followed him on the way.

³¹ The crowd ^(A)rebuked them, telling them to be silent, but they cried out all the more, “Lord, have mercy on us, Son of David!” ³² And stopping, Jesus called them and said, “What do you want me to do for you?” ³³ They said to him, “Lord, let our eyes be opened.” ³⁴ And Jesus in pity touched their eyes, and immediately they recovered their sight and followed him.
