³⁰ And he said, ‘No, ^(A)father Abraham, but if someone goes to them from the dead, they will repent.’

⁹ They were scorched by the fierce heat, and ^(A)they cursed^[a] the name of God who had power over these plagues. ^(B)They did not repent ^(C)and give him glory.

¹⁰ The fifth angel poured out his bowl on ^(D)the throne of the beast, and ^(E)its kingdom was plunged into darkness. People gnawed their tongues in anguish ¹¹ and cursed ^(F)the God of heaven for their pain and ^(G)sores. ^(H)They did not repent of their deeds.

²⁴ And he called out, ^(A)‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus to dip the end of his finger in water and ^(B)cool my tongue, for ^(C)I am in anguish in this flame.’

⁵ No, I tell you; but unless you ^(A)repent, you will all likewise perish.”

⁸ Bear fruits ^(A)in keeping with repentance. And do not begin to say to yourselves, ^(B)‘We have Abraham as our father.’ For I tell you, God is able from ^(C)these stones to raise up children for Abraham.
