Judges 9:13-15
New English Translation
13 But the grapevine said to them, ‘I am not going to stop producing my wine, which makes gods and men so happy, just to sway above the other trees!’[a]
14 “So all the trees said to the thornbush, ‘You come and be our king!’[b] 15 The thornbush said to the trees, ‘If you really want to choose[c] me as your king, then come along, find safety under my branches.[d] Otherwise[e] may fire blaze from the thornbush and consume the cedars of Lebanon!’

15 “The thornbush said to the trees, ‘If you really want to anoint me king over you, come and take refuge in my shade;(B) but if not, then let fire come out(C) of the thornbush and consume the cedars of Lebanon!’(D)

13 And the vine said unto them, Should I leave my wine, which cheereth God and man, and go to be promoted over the trees?
14 Then said all the trees unto the bramble, Come thou, and reign over us.
15 And the bramble said unto the trees, If in truth ye anoint me king over you, then come and put your trust in my shadow: and if not, let fire come out of the bramble, and devour the cedars of Lebanon.
